The way Bismuth immediately identified Steven as a "meatball" and wasn't surprised to see him hanging out with the Crystal Gems suggests that humans did indeed fight side-by-side with Gems in the war.
Can we add Bismuth to the Sassy Black Woman page?
No, because she's not even human. You can mention on the trivia page, that she's played by one though, under a Hey Its That Voice entry.

If I interpreted things correctly, part of the tragedy is that the Shattering Point wouldn't even have mattered.
Rose and Bismuth's altercation happened right before the battle at the strawberry fields. Which was a big victory for the Rebellion anyway without a superweapon and which caused Homeworld to withdraw... most? of their forces and unleash their own superweapon which destroyed Rose's army.
Although telling Bismuth that would just get her more angry at Homeworld.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersRose told the other Crystal Gems that Bismuth must have gotten lost at the pyramid (?). And then when Steven found her, they figured that Rose had saved Bismuth from the Diamond Doom Wave by hiding her in Lion.
So it seems there's a tight time frame there. She can't have been missing too long, as personable as she is.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers(Sorry for only skimming like the last 10 pages, the posts were getting very long)
Unless the Diamond developed the corruption wave right before using it, the Breaking Point wouldn't have helped any, just rushed the rebellion toward Homeworld's Godzilla Threshold.
There is a lot of stuff to unpack in this episode, but I'm really just wondering which one of y'all started calling the Breaking Point the "Shattering Point." It's really infected this discussion. :P
I don't have the energy and focus to say as much about the episode itself as I'd like, so I'll summarize by saying that it was excellent and perfectly terrible! Oh, and while I do think they other Gems should really just let Bismuth reform and really talk through what's happened, I kinda can't blame them for putting her in Gem jail for the time being, given the whole two counts of attempted murder on her sheet. That's kind of dealbreaking complication. I mean, it's still more rationale to cut her slack for the time being than Jasper, but it's not a good situation. Another time, Rainbow Mom.

I want to see Peridot and Lapis's reaction to Bismuth if (when) she comes back. The latter for the inevitable "YOU", the former to see the confrontation between Steven's method and Bismuth's solution.

"Sassy" usually describes someone who's upbeat but kind of a smartass, like Amesthyst. I'd say Bismuth's tone is more "jovial".

So while I do have my many personal thoughts on the episode, and most people have already talked about them (and the counter-points) to death—also really impressed how we kept things civil throughout—I'm amazed nobody has brought up Bismuth's true contribution to the plot.
Namely, the Gems' weapon upgrades.
Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...I agree, that seems likely. They're obviously not going to let her sleep forever. That's never been the goal for any of the bubbled Gems, after all.
... Though, the problem there of course is that the Crystal Gems clearly aren't in any position to be hoping to be able to end the war for the foreseeable future. Or rather, an end to the war that also isn't the end of the Earth and their lives. Shit's kinda grim, really, even if they wanted to ignore the oceanic monster-dog herding asshole. But, well, compromises gotta be made somewhere, the situation being what it is. I do hope we get some time to see her again.
Actually, on that note, I hope that when the conflicts of the series are over that we do get a nice long epilogue. The way this show tends to give its characters a chance to breathe and unwind and live is one of my favorite aspects of it, and the finale should definitely be allowed to have that kind of generous denouement as well.
Mention of a Ziggurat makes me pretty happy. Very well comes close to suggesting my long-standing thought that the war was on in the time of the Sumerians, and primitive humanity did their best to help the fight.
The episode's just fantastic all around. The tension in that final confrontation was exquisite. Seriously that music, the gorgeous animation, the everything was on point.

Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see them fight with those weapon upgrades. Though, to be honest, I thought she was going to outright replace some (or all) of their weapons.
