Yeah, I'm kinda with Smokey on this. I think it was a great episode but I can see why someone would be mad with the two heavyset, muscly ladies in the series being violent jerks.
Like, I guess with Bismuth it's more that she's really emotionally unwell? Attacking Steven was clearly not a thing she did rationally the way Jasper, Lapis and Peridot have before. She's still hurt badly over the way things went down with Rose, and she thinks maybe this time she can prove herself, and instead nothing's changed.
It's honestly kind of depressing we didn't even see any indication that the Gems talked it over. SU is a show that never lets a plot thread dangle, so we'll see Bismuth again someday.
They tend to do that...putting characters back on the shelf until they're ready for them.
Like, a lot.
Like, a lot a lot.
I think there is.....In Canada.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I have to say that I kinda agree with smokey, too. It's kinda been bothering me that the only masculine looking muscular women have been, well, pretty freaking violent. I mean, in Bismuth's case, it's totally understandable, but that doesn't change the fact that it's kinda upholding that stereotype? I hope some day we can see a very butch lady who is more of a Gentle Giant. If we had just one example, that would settle my unease.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.![]()

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Thinking about it now, how many not-corrupted Gems have they fought? Four, and all of them tried to kill them. That's not really a sample size you can make a convincing argument with.
Jasper's in the air, but Bismuth will definitely come around someday. It's likely Jasper will too, no matter how much I'd prefer that not to be the case.
Fixed.

I am positive Bismuth will come around. She's already on their side. I hope they can have a nice talk with her. Bismuth does seem to have really good intentions, and if they could get freaking Peridot, who seemed so cold-hearted in her original appearances, to join their side, there's no way in heck they can't get Bismuth to join them, considering how sweet and friendly to them she is already!
When we're done, there won't be anything left.Aw, Bismuth only wanted to kill the Diamonds, is that so bad?

I'd love to see one that's about Season 2 wakfu parallels. Pretty similar story there too.

Alright, I'm confused. Are the Unfortunate Implications that the show's implying that all muscular women are obsessed with strength to a psychotic level?
Because if so, I can sort of see it. Especially if you count Sugilite, who literally couldn't control themselves because of their raw strength.
But I guess it would make sense for the stronger members of a purpose-driven alien race to get obsessed with their power when their sense of purpose is thrown into question. Jasper wants to beat Rose to prove that she's stronger than her (because she was made to be stronger), Sugilite is Amethyst's inadequacies realized when combined with Garnet's power (because she's not as strong as she should be), and Bismuth wanted to use her abilities for good so hard that she went right back into malicious (and she was made to be a blacksmith, and blacksmiths are typically muscular). If there are implications, they're certainly not intentional.

That's a hint...Lion's not actually a Gem.
Unfortunate Implications are rarely intentional.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I did appreciate how morally ambiguous Bismuth was. She was really interesting, and I totally get why she thought the way she did about her weapon. She wasn't completely right, but she did have some pretty good points, sort of like Rose. And I loved her pep talk to Steven!
BTW, funny thing about Steven telling Bismuth about all the other Gems trying to kill him before he could befriend them. The same events happened, just in the opposite order! Bismuth befriended him, and then tried to kill him! Hahahaha... I just made myself sad.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.It looks like Tonight's episode updated the ending with the final part of "Love Like You"
Also here's a stiched version of all the endings to make the full song

Unfortunate Implications are never intentional. The page says so.
New ending theme soon?

I also can't image that the Crewniverse don't have discussions like this all the time so, we should keep that in mind. You can't please everyone, but this seems like the kind of stuff they like to be on top of, and have plans for.
Edit: Not to say they can't make mistakes but there really is too little to work out a trend here.

They don't want their prejudice to be too obvious.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The stuff Bismuth made in the forge. She says she made every physical weapon the Crystal Gems ever used, but apparently you can also forge add-ons to the weapons a Gem makes out of light?
Since this is the hundredth episode and we've finally heard every part of "Love Like You," do you think that we'll get a new closing credits theme from this point on?
