She started an army of only 2 corrupted Gems...and got cocky.
@smokeycut
Probably the sexual undertones to the fusion dances, plus Malachite being treated as a metaphor for rape (later episodes "upgrade" it to an abusive long-term relationship of any kind), the way Sardonyx came off as Sex for Solace, and Garnet leading Peridot on about it as a form of losing her fusion virginity. Right now they could still encompass romantic relationships of all kinds including asexual ones, but nevertheless some of the presentation leans towards sexually active romantic partners.
I agree that I'm not a big fan of the fusion-as-sex interpretation specifically, and the idea of it makes me deeply uncomfortable, especially when it involves children. Not to mention even if fusion can encompass romantic asexuality that would still cause problems for aroace people whose equivalents would simply have no desire to fuse at all, and should not be treated as defective for that. It'd be nice if they could establish at least one example of a fusion that is unambiguously 100% platonic friendship or familial in nature, without any room to read it as a form of romantic relationship of any kind, in order to wash away that potential stigma so that an aroace-seeming character could fuse without Unfortunate Implications.

(And they're not gonna kill her when they can just bubble her; that would literally be cold-blooded murder.)
With all of Jasper's obsession with gems behaving the "proper way", I'm really starting to suspect there's something she's hiding. It seems likely that she'll find herself in a Boomerang Bigot situation.
Friend Ship. She was seconds away from shattering three gems in Friend Ship.

That might be part of why I find Villeco and Molisee's Amethyst art off-putting.
Kind of mixed on their art. Aside from what I've stated already, they have a tendency to morph

◊ into her Season 1 form randomly. On the other hand, the constant exaggerated expressions during Peridot and YD's shouting match had me rolling.
Honestly, yeah. That's why the fusion-as-sex (or strictly romantic relationships) makes me pretty uncomfortable. Being aro ace and all. :/
@that1otherdude: By "died" I meant "been poofed." I didn't mean they would shatter Jasper.

All the relationships.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice."Alone Together" was the first episode of a cartoon that ever made me feel both uncomfortable and mesmerized. It was then that I realized how great this show is.
And I don't mean "uncomfortable" as in "against what I believe is appropriate", I mean it as in "out of my comfort zone", which I like to consider a good thing for television.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawSpoilered for content warning purposes.
So I kinda had a thought, given the heavy metaphor behind fusion about consent, trust and intimacy, I wonder if at some point we'll ever see a Gem forcing another into fusion. Like, not Jasper coercing Lapis into something she had to agree to, but outright dragging them into a fusion they don't want.
Eh well that's basically the Cluster Gems I guess.

Most of my friends, are more on the uncomfortable side when it comes to Stevonnie. Because while there's more to it from what Word of God have said, the sexual subtext is there. And they're kids.

Well, the "We can stop if you want" "No, it's fine" exchange makes it the most obvious subtext in the show.
"They're not two kids boning into a fusion" is the weirdest out-of-context line in this discussion.

I want this now. I want this worse than I've ever wanted anything from this show, especially now that my dream canon of Stevonnie riding into battle atop Lion has been realized.
I mean, think about it. Once Amethyst and Peridot realize they compliment one another, we could see the Shorty Squad accomplish so much, like
Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...
