I liked that episode. Finally learned more about Jasper. She definitely still believes in Homeworld's "every gem has to follow their purpose" rule. She's a determinator. She doesn't think there's any point to life other than fighting. She lives in a pineapple under the sea with her pet Ocean Jasper.
New theory time: Amethyst betrays the gems and joins Jasper's army in order to get stronger in Beta. She eventually gets pulled back to the gems, but becomes the one to kickstart Jasper's redemption because of her time spent with her.
Huh, I expected Jasper to try fusing with the corrupted Gems, and get corrupted herself. I guess she's not nearly that desperate/stupid. Guess we'll see how things turn out for her.
Anyway, looks like we're about to tackle Amethyst's issues head-on now. Looking forward to this upcoming arc, but I wonder how Bismuth fits in. Perhaps the return of one of the original Crystal Gems makes her feel inadequate...
Also, Stevvonie fight scene! Awesome!
Interesting idea. I have a feeling that such an arc would get certain fans upset, though...
Still, it'd definitely allow for some interesting material with Jasper, so I'm all for it.

Oh God! Natural light!I actually kinda of like that Jasper's chacter arc post de-fusion is pretty much "screw my mission, I'm going full Blood Knight"
GUNDAMU GUNDAMUI feel like this episode gave Jasper the most screentime this season.
Same, actually. It's like what smokey said, she believes her purpose is nothing more than just fighting, since that's what Jaspers are made for, so that's all she's gonna do, since that's all she can do. Kinda interesting to see how Homeworld's teachings have shaped her, just like how they shaped Peridot.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.If we had a 'like' system, I'd thumbs that up x1,000.
If that's the case, will she get a tacky villain outfit during her spell?

Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...Depression before betrayal.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'm starting to think that maybe Amethyst is going to start to feel the pull of the Dark Side the temptation of feeling powerful, and is at least going to consider a Face–Heel Turn.
Also, I've been waiting since "Alone Together" for Stevonnie to fight, and it was everything I had hoped for!
It was nice to see Jasper on screen for more than one minute (literally), as well as some character development. Although, it seems a bit...abrupt to have her focusing on building an army and fighting "Rose" instead of, say, trying to get back to Homeworld. Maybe they just haven't gotten across just how power-crazy she's become.
Still, "Oh, you didn't need me at all..." really made this my second-favorite episode of the Steve Nuke.

I mean, she wanted to get Steven back to Homeworld at first because Rose.
But then the ship blew up and so she wanted to get big and smash them all and that's why Malachite happened.
And her motivations haven't really changed since then?
Except for the part where Malachite became a motivation in herself, really.

Oh God! Natural light!A great episode marred by some awkward animation, like Amethyst's facial expressions, Jasper suddenly having a freakish Yellow Diamond/Alolan Exeggutor/Whatever Meme neck, and Stevonnie's head being disproportionately huge in one shot.
The first proper Stevonnie fight scene, though, holy shit. And some fun Crystal Gem Depression (TM) to boot!

I still say Jasper's gonna have something happen to give her a heel-face turn. That fucking Comic-Con poster still makes me question why she was on there with all the other Gems (sans the Diamonds and their Pearls).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
