"Oh, shit! It's Jasper! Are they gonna fight her? What's she going to do with those Gems? Does she even want to go back to Homewo—and she's gone again."

Reminds me of how the "Catch Peridot" arc played out.

Crystal Gems, you guys...you guys suck at your jobs. You take forever to get anything done.

Jasper is going to heal the corrupted gems and do fusion with them because she's a slut.

Lies and slander. She only wants to fuse with Lapis-senpai.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

I think I got it, Jasper has spent a short time in the human world and she learned that us humans find gems incredibly valuable, so she's collecting them to sell or auction them off and become a freaking millionaire.

50/50 chance of her training them to fight for her, OR fusing with them.

Also those beasts were TOTALLY quartz types, which makes me wonder what Centipeetle was?

That would be very supervillain of her. grin

Connie said they were in the "Great North". I think that's what their world calls Canada, or some part of it.

She only wants to fuse with Lapis-senpai.
The core of Jasper's known ambition at this point is "I have to get stronger." Malachite was one way of stacking the cobblestones, maybe she found another.

Anyone else wondering if those monsters used to be Quartz? They had the hair for it.
One was orange, so I briefly thought it was Jasper in disguise... for some reason. Maybe it used to be another jasper.

That reminds me of something. I don't know if this is still a thing, but apparently Arabic anime dubs had a strange habit of making the characters' motivations monetary. Like, apparently, their dub of the Pokemon anime had trainers collecting badges so they could sell them for money, and this tended to happen to most series that revolved around collecting something. Now I'm wondering, if Steven Universe was a mid-noughties anime, would that actually be Arabic Jasper's motivation?

That picture on Steven's phone at the end looks like Jasper was actually posing for the photo [lol]

Jasper just wants to catch all the corrupted gems. Because she wants to be the very best, like no one ever was...

Well, in the games, you do get money for winning the battles that give you your badges.

Maybe Jasper just wants friends, but she doesn't know how. She thinks killing people will make them like her, but it doesn't. It just makes them dead. I trust that this journey through the Great North will help Jasper find herself, and discover the true meaning of friendship

@Austin, ya know, if Steven Universe was quite a bit older I'll bet it'd be about battling others with monsters or trading cards. So it'd probably be similar to what you're thinking about.

I thought that was some visible sign of corruption, but this makes more sense because no other corrupted gemstone looked different than a regular one.

Their gemstones look a lot more like jasper than Jasper's does.

[up][up][up]Good eye. My guess is that she's specifically finding corrupted Jaspers to tame and use as her underlings.

They're Jaspers? How interesting, there's definitely a reasoning behind that I'm sure.

That thought crossed my mind as well.

I wonder if this means I'll get to have my wish of someone busting the Gem containment room open. Probably not, but it's nice to dream.

Lies and slander. She only wants to fuse with Lapis-senpai.

I think Jasper's just looking for some rebound fusion. That's why she's collecting them, because no matter how many she fuses with, none can fill that Lapis shaped hole in her heart.

So, I'm fairly certain this is the first time Jasper has left an episode of her own free will.

Good for her. Finally taking control of her life.

How exactly did Pearl know where the kids were anyway? One second Connie says they found the monster, the next, second Pearl's right there.

I thought that this episode was the half-hour special, or the one with the spoilerific stuff in it. Evidently I was mislead. When is the half-hour episode? Because according to my schedule none of the episodes this week are any longer than normal.
