You joked about them joking about it...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I was thinking of an issue that "Hit the Diamond" mooted only for "Alone at Sea" to make relevant again: Is it a good idea for Lapis and Peridot to stay at the barn? Jasper is after Lapis and the only water source nearby is the hole Steven and Peridot filled with water.
Then I imagined Lapis saw Jasper coming, grabbed Peridot, and flew high up into the air, dodging Jasper every time she tried to jump. Eventually Jasper would leave and come back later, but Lapis saw her coming every time, and eventually Peridot started bringing her tablet up for the Lapis ride and noticing her wireless reception is better.
(And as for how Jasper would find that they're in the barn... well how the hell did she find Lapis last time?)

I remembered your comment as if it was reacting to the future.

Does anyone else think that the EMP Pearl tried making in "Political Power" is going to make a return by the end of the season? Like, she somehow was able to improve the technology to the point where it might actually work on Gems (or their technology) this time?
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw
I see that being about as likely as not.
Even if it does show back up, it could be like the Laser Light Cannons, and simply turn into The Worf Barrage.

So is this "Jasper's" mindset now?
"Friends FOREVER Lapis!!"
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I like the idea of Jasper showing up at the barn and Peridot and Lapis having to confront her without help.
But it'd have to be a situation where Lapis is without water (or too surprised to use it in time), since she basically wrecks everything once she has access, and that might diminish the tension.
I think we're going to be having a villain skill power up soon, such that enemies are going to start being wise to Lapis' powers and bring along ways to get around them, because holy crap does she currently blow everyone else out of the water (wakka wakka) when she gets going.

Too surprised...ya mean like during the end of "Jail Break"...when they were literally right next to the ocean?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Even the slightest hand movement could've worked, really.
I guess that's not exactly the way of the water-bender.

It's a little old now, but I wish to present a theory I saw elsewhere to explain Steven suddenly having his healing powers again at the start of "Monster Reunion". Or specifically, how he'd actually still had them this entire time.
Because think about it: it's been stated multiple times that Steven's powers are connected to his emotional state, and the empathy he feels for the people in his life. He inadvertently corrects Connie's eyesight, fills the crack in Lapis' gem so she can fly home, and heals his dad's broken leg. All of those people share a common thread. Steven has a deep emotional attachment to each of them, even Lapis in the short time he knew her.
But what, in the span between healing Greg's leg and MC Bear-Bear's arm, are the only things Steven has attempted to fix with his spit? The weather geode, and the primary Galaxy Warp pad. Two things it is hard to have an emotional attachment for. Likely, he wouldn't have been able to fix that plate even if Pearl hadn't intervened.
So Steven can heal whatever is broken, but only if he truly cares about it. In that regard, he would still have a ways to go to match his mom's empathy reach.
Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...Stephen feels emotionally attached to snakes...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I still really hope Peridot runs into Jasper alone and has to pretend to have never defected. It's just such a great opportunity for dramatic tension, it'd be a shame to miss it.
How can we see this from Steven's point of view? Well the obvious route is for him to be hiding nearby, like when Peridot called Yellow Diamond. Another way is for the initial encounter to occur offscreen, and an episode starts/ends with the others unable to find her* —until Steven looks at his phone and notices his inbox suddenly flooded with e-mails.
I mean if she could've directed the water fast enough with slight hand movements to squeeze Jaspee and that stops her from being able to poof her.
She only had Lapizuli by the wrist...who could've hid her other hand behind her back.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. She doesn't? She's only ever moved water with gestures of the hand or arm.
But, I guess you "can" hear water, so that plan is a bust.
