Bats make pretty good weapons...if there was a nail in there, those Rubies would've been owned. I don't think he would've done that though.

[up]x3 And they only interfered with the Rubies when they thought Peridot was in trouble. So basically everyone was responsible in part for how things went down.

Dude, don't you love the stories where everyone grabs the Idiot Ball and yet they manage to make a fun and ejoyable story?

[up]All the time, it's one of my favorite types of silly plots. And the Rubies just made the episode even better with how amusing and dense they were.

Anyway, I still want to see homeworld despite the fact that homeworld doesn't seems to be a functional regime.

I think we all do. It probably doesn't even look like a planet anymore.

The hologram that the gems saw on the moon shows that the Earth was planned to not being shaped as a planet either.

They would hollow out the planet...anything that isn't a gem wouldn't be able to live there for multiple reasons.

Mainly Gravity.

I don't think Gravity is much of an obstacle for gems, from what we've seen.

Also it stands to reason a lot of the gems would live in those high rising towers that were sprouting out of the earth in that hologram.

Getting back to Lapis, this is the first time she's actually expressed guilt for her actions in "Ocean Gem". I'm was kind of surprised by that, though Greg's bringing it up was a big hint.

So her problem is that she'll accept blame, but reacts to it poorly—she might even think she deserves the suffering she's gone through. Lapis would rather wallow than do something to make up for it because she thinks she can't be good.

(Also late on this, but Steven said Jasper is "terrible". Even if he didn't want Jasper to die, Steven's not just afraid of her now, he actually thinks lowly of her.)

Hrm. A bunch of people on other sites seem really shaken up by this episode. Jasper fans are kind of going through a massive wave of worry that she won't get redeemed.

Now I want her redemption to start faster, just so they can cheer up.

At this point, I really doubt that Jasper will gonna reform anytme soon.

[up][up][up] Peridot's began 3 episodes after we found out about her involvement in the fusion experiments. It's entirely within the realm of possibility that Jasper's will begin by the time this season ends.

I presently feel much the same way about Jasper redeeming herself as I felt about Peridot doing so before "Catch and Release": I wouldn't mind if it happened naturally or that someone predicts it will, but I find the assumption that it must happen to be very annoying.

Peridot's began 3 episodes after we found out about her involvement in the fusion experiments.
It was clear even in "Keeping It Together" that Peridot did not make the cluster gems, she just took notes on them.

That's fine by me. There's hints of something deeper, but right now Jasper hasn't shown a willingness to reform or that she'd even care to.

For the time being, Jasper fans can honestly go away. I find most to be obnoxious in objection to any evidence onscreen.

I felt the same way about Peridot fans until the show gave me reason to think otherwise.

Getting back to Lapis, this is the first time she's actually expressed guilt for her actions in "Ocean Gem". I'm was kind of surprised by that, though Greg's bringing it up was a big hint.
It's a clever thought from psychiatrist Steven; to help Lapis overcome her self-loathing by bringing her to people she wronged who can forgive her actions. Greg is practically the living embodiment of forgiveness.

So her problem is that she'll accept blame, but reacts to it poorly—she might even think she deserves the suffering she's gone through. Lapis would rather wallow than do something to make up for it because she thinks she can't be good.
This can describe me on a bad day so accurately, and just about anyone with self-esteem problems.

Don't know if anyone's pointed this out, but the fact that Steven and Lapis now know Jasper is on the ocean floor, slowly advancing her way back to shore, should be a clear indicator of priority #1 for the time being. The question is how exactly will the Crystal Gems prepare for the inevitable rematch with Cheeto Puff? (Violence; the obvious answer is violence, until Steven guides them to a more sensible solution.)

I was pretty neutral on Peridot until "Catch And Release". Similar with Jasper, I liked her design and she intrigued me, but I didn't think much more of her than that. But as soon as we got smol Peridot being quirky at the temple I totally fell for her hook, line, and sinker.

I'm perfectly in favor of Jasper being redeemed, but I'm somewhat baffled that people apparently want it to happen now.

Seriously, it took Peridot from "Catch and Release" to "Message Received" to complete her Heel–Face Turn, and while I'm not expecting Jasper to repeat her arc, for her to have changed this fast seems...unlikely.

For the time being, Jasper fans can honestly go away. I find most to be obnoxious in objection to any evidence onscreen.

There's no need for that. Here, at least, we've been discussing the issue in a reasonable manner, and I see no reason why that can't continue.

I don't have a problem with Jasper redemption now, (I kinda was against it at first for reasons) but if it's gonna happen it should be a slow process so it can be done well and done right. People need to be patient. There's other stuff that need to be dealt with as well.
