Well, the crew has been pretty vocal that Jasper is a complex character. Her wearing a flower that symbolizes love and friendship in the comic con poster (and being the only character with that flower), plus this series of tweets
points towards there being a lot we don't know about Jasper yet.

. It's run by Lauren Zuke. One of the story board artists.

I noticed the storyboard artist credits for this episode were a bit strange. There was Hilary Florido, but not Lauren Zuke, when those two have been partners since "Historical Friction". Also Kat Morris had her first storyboard artist credit since "Bubble Buddies", way back in season one, after which she became a Storyboard Revisionist (and more recently Supervising Director).
I'm thinking Morris and Johnston's promotions to Supervising Director lead to them doing storyboards for the next couple episodes—sort of like how a few of the first couple episodes were boarded by Ian Jones-Quartey.
Except that Johnston and Morris have been credited as supervising directors dating back to the production block beginning with Peridot's proper face-turn. Given how you've written in the past about the length of time needed to board and complete a quadruple of episodes, this is either faulty logic or they were always supervising directors and only got credited beginning with those episodes.
Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...Very heavy episode with a strong message, cant really say much because its not something I can relate to but it was very nice seeing this addressed, and seeing this on a kids show is amazing.Things are heating up tumblr rn as well, again is a touchy subject.

On the subject of Jasper, I've brought up before that I thought she may become the Manipulative Bastard type, after realizing that fighting fair won't necessarily work out well for her.
However, with her recent power obsession she showed in this episode, she might just become the Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain (after a decent arc, considering this episode's events). She still wants to beat the Crystal Gems, but just gets more and more simplistic with her approach, eventually devolving into her charging at the them with no plan. And it's only after getting kicked to the curb so many times that she realizes that raw power isn't everything, and starts to learn from them.
Or maybe she just becomes so power-hungry, that she comes crawling back to the Crystal Gems just to surrender in the faint hopes that one or more of them will fuse with her. Steven tells her about how fusion isn't just for power, yadda yadda yadda, then Jasper joins the Crystal Gems.
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawLiterally every villain to appear for more than a single episode becomes ineffectually sympathetic. Exhibits A through Z: Peridot.
My various fanfics.Learning that raw power isn't everything definitely strikes me as a good arc for Jasper.
Oh God! Natural light!I figure that no matter what, Jasper will eventually join the Crystal Gems (or at least make a "truce" of some kind). She can't go back to Homeworld - they're gonna want a good explanation of what went wrong on Earth. And given how poorly the Diamond are shown to treat their subjects, it better be a good explanation.
I Imagine the she will only ever join the gems if it was a I Fight for the Strongest Side! type deal
GUNDAMU GUNDAMU

I have this fear that Jasper is starting to be characterized similar to Kevin: Since what makes them an antagonist is the fact that they're pushy (or forceful) in terms of a relationship, they don't feel the need to give them complexity.
It works for a side character that no one expects much from, but not a true-blue villain.
