I noticed they changed the end credits song again, or more accurately, they used a different part of "Love Like You." People keep theorizing who is singing the song to who, and while I used to think it was probably Rose singing to Greg, the line saying something like "you're good and I'm nothing like you" didn't click. It could be Pearl singing to Rose, but after this episode I actually think Lapis singing to Steven is a better fit.
At Comic Con, Rebecca Sugar revealed that Love Like You is from any given gem towards humanity. Gem culture has love as a taboo, while it's a huge part of humanity.
And yeah, Jasper getting redeemed will either rely on herself, or maybe help from Peridot (since she's been redeemed herself, and knows Jasper decently).
She dislikes "Jasper" too...actually dislikes, so that's most likely a no-go.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Interestingly I guess this episode goes a way towards breaking stereotypes about visible abusers too. Edward may genuinely love Bella with all his heart and want her to be happy, instead of just lying to her in his own self-interest, and Jasper truly enjoys being fused and having Lapis's company now. Doesn't mean the relationships aren't still toxic as hell.
(P.S. I initially misspelled that hotlink as "MightMakesRakes". Just felt like sharing that.)

That post more or less got my own thoughts across. Lapis isn't a saint, but just because she does have flaws doesn't mean she's defined by them.
A lot of folks seem to use the "but Lapis isn't innocent!" reasoning as a way to brush aside Jasper's own faults in this.
It's abuse on both sides, but Jasper was the one to instigate it in the beginning and end.
It's not that she can't be redeemed, but I'm utterly sick of Jasper fans giving her the leather pants treatment.
As it stands, she's consistently demonstrated her negative traits pride, invading people's space and right to privacy and respect, blaming others for her mistakes, treating Lapis as a means to power, etc.
Pride is a negative trait? That's terrible.

My only issue with that post (I assume you mean this one
) was the weird segway they went into blaming fatphobia for people not liking Jasper (multiple episodes of being a dick) or Bismuth (the first thing we see is her poofing an innocent Lapis), or theorizing that Rose Quartz might be less of a paragon of virtue than the show makes her seem.
The evil Amethyst theories are pretty weird I'll admit, but that has more to do with her being a Quartz/Kindergarten child and not one of the original rebels. Pearl's build didn't protect her from all sorts of hate and accusations of being a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing either.

Man, seeing explorations of the dark side of relationships always makes me...uncomfortable. But I think this episode handled the "abusive ex begs for them back" story very well, especially since it didn't handle it so black-and-white.
I still wish they didn't just knock Jasper back to "she'll be back when she can contribute to the story again" status after two minutes of screen time.
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawSpeaking as someone who's favorite character is Jasper, it's not at all because I think she's a good person. It's due to a combination of things.
Jasper has had pretty much zero character development. We've seen her act brutish, mean, etc. with zero positive traits. Compare to Peridot, who was cold, merciless, and very obviously evil. We now know Peridot is nothing like that, so it's pretty easy to assume we'll see a lot more to Jasper in time. I want to see what her other facets are.
Second reason I like Jasper: Her design. She's big, she's buff, her voice is great, etc. I just really like how she looks.
Third reason: Kind of related to the first, but Jasper has so much potential. The crew has shown that they consider her part of the SU family, and I want to see why.
Fourth reason: Spite. A metric fuck ton of spite. Seeing post after post on tumblr about how nobody is allowed to like Jasper led to me loving her.
Current "Jasper" would only continuously combat the CG...and they may not want another P-dot, except in reverse.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That's the best reason for liking someone.
(Also, one of my main reasons for liking her, TBH. It just annoys me that everyone was clamoring for a Peridot redemption arc even when she was showing no good traits whatsoever just because she seemed cute, but Jasper doesn't get that same benefit of the doubt, and she had done just as many bad things as Peridot. -_-)
