Never watched End of Evangelion, even I knew it was an EVA reference.
That was a pretty cool Bottle Episode, a further exploration of Steven's lucid dreaming powers, like apparently they do leave a mental toll on him, and can also dream-share with others. Only sad that none of the Gems appeared...again.*

Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...It's not really a mental toll...it's just that using them isn't actually the same as falling asleep.

Well on the bright side, seeing that tomorrow is a Lapis episode, it looks like this will be the last Non-gem focused episode for a while. Still I appreciate that they decided to take the time to focus on the beach city residents again, they really have been mostly pushed to the side for a while now.

He still has to dream to interact with others in their dreams. I don't see how that isn't sleeping.
If only he could have figured this power out before pretending to be Lars.
True, but only having two V As for one episode still seems odd. Even seeing background extras could have alleviated the ghost town feeling I got at times.

Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...I wonder why he randomly happened to dreamwalk in Kiki's dream. What directed him to that dream specifically, at first? I guess it was just pure luck or something.
I really liked this episode! Kiki is a fun character, and I hope we get to see more of her later. Nice moral, too. I thought it was nice that Jenny didn't seem to complain when Kiki asked to take time off for herself. I was expecting Kiki to have to stand up for herself or something while Jenny continues to insist on pawning off her work on her, but nah, all that Kiki needed to do was tell Jenny that she didn't want to cover for her, and Jenny was chill with that.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.
x5 Stephen only seems to enter the minds of the people he happens to be most concerned about at the moment, so it's not really lucky.
Also telling the truth sometimes is all you need to do to fix problems...especially to family and friends, so no one gets arrested.

x4 Ah, right. Though that still doesnt change the fact that the next few episodes the gems will be in the spotlight, plus since next week is apparently when all the huge plot stuff is happening means that this will be the last "townie" episode for a good while.

Never said it was luck, it seemed pretty obvious to me a pattern is developing that Steven's most recent interaction with somebody is a clue he'll be using his dream skills to assist them with some problem they're having, whether or not the help is really justified.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The episode title is a direct reference to a classic Miyazaki film about a girl riding a witch broom; end with a direct reference to a popular Gainax show where all the characters have serious mental problems and fight a bunch of Eldritch Abomination . . . sure, that makes sense.
Anyway like the episode. Kiki is pretty hot in that joggers attire . . . there's going to be a lot of fanart of her is there?
He fell asleep eating pizza. Apparently that was enough.
