I'm glad that wasn't just me. I wouldn't be surprised in the Crew did it that way intentionally.
It didn't seem like that huge of a reveal, it just seems like an exposition dump which sort of explains why YD would only send a group of clearly incompetent Rubies to go after Jasper
GUNDAMU GUNDAMULooking at the Wikia for the episode. It has a few tidbits of note:
- Laramie is apparently Lars' birth-name.
- His parents are Dante and Martha.
Also, if Steven can sleep enter other people's bodies, and not just their dreamscapes...
What was Rose doing with these abilities?

Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...That's actually one of my favorite parts of SU. What a Cerebus Rollercoaster it is. You never know when there's going to be a big reveal. On the Run was a lighthearted episode until the last few minutes. You have to constantly be alert, which makes it exciting. In other shows, you can say "Welp, looks like this is a boring slice of life episode, time to watch something else" but SU keeps you on your toes and in a constant state of excitement.
Google says Laramie is technically unisex but boy-leaning name. Otherwise it makes me think of Matthew Shepard because of The Laramie Project.
Anyway the fact that Lars went around shirtless without any hint of 'mastectomy scars or even residual breast buds makes it rather unlikely anymore (though still not completely impossible) that he's a trans guy, but pointing that out in a lot of circles on Tumblr will get you labeled as a truscum, so...
That was an interesting episode.
Every time someone said Laramie I heard the voice of Troy Mc Clure. Now I can't help but think Lars was named after the cigarettes from the Simpsons.
Sadie and Lars have an interesting relationship and sad relationship, sad for Sadie that it is.
The new Lars was 100x better than the old Lars.
edit: Sadie has Caligula the Documentary as one of her movies, thank goodness it was just the documentary

"Procrastinate now, don’t put it off." Ellen De GeneresOh boo, pointing out the truth results in backlash...then at that point, who even cares?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Another one of my favorite parts: Steven not knowing what a report card is. "That doesn't spell anything!"
Could we somehow spin this as a means of determining whether that Steven goes to school comic is show-canon, or just Legends material?
Previously known as "71TheRoman". Wishes his password wouldn't forget who he is...Damn Steven doesn't even know what a report card is, Wow. Also what were the grades he got? I know mostly Fs butt here were a few decent ones there.
Also seeing Lar's with Steven's perpetually cheery nature was just weird. Its great that Steven's a nice kid but he can sometimes take that niceness a bit too far. He didn't even try to act like Lars.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Personally, I rather liked the "Lars is trans" theory because I feel like the show would be able to address that kind of thing properly in a non-Anvilicious way as it has for other LGBT topics, but at the same time I still realize that as it stands current medical transition isn't a magic bullet. For the people who have this headcanon because they are trans themselves and want someone to identify with, they're probably setting themselves up for unrealistic expectations in their own lives. And if it's a case of Tumblr's sitewide plague of people imposing their headcanons on others, then there's no excuse for that no matter how hard one tries to invoke Misery Poker.
The majority of people who go through medical transition will not end up looking like Janet Mock or Ben Melzer, let alone people whose bodies carry a lot of the desired "traditional" secondary sex characteristics, such as a cis man's broad shoulders or a cis woman's wide hips. There's still going to be scars or other anatomical "leftovers", like Caitlyn Jenner's height, broad shoulders, and deep voice, because the current state of medical technology just can't do anything about that. Granted Lars' build isn't that unfeasible, and not all trans people want changes that severe, but nevertheless people should be aware of the complexities of human biology for their own sake.

That explains how Steven's dream powers work. I had pretty much guessed he just takes over a persons body. That's generally how it works with mind powers. But now we know what happened to that watermelon Steven. He went to sleep one day and just, never woke up. Probably more pleasant than seeing Malachite rise up out of the ocean and, wait, did she eat the watermelons? I forget.
x5 He got a B, C, and a D...
Larson does worse than I do, as a person who doesn't try...I feel validation.
