[up]x4 I'll admit, while I didn't tear up, when I heard the last line in that part of the song, my heart sank.

@xander On that subject, seeing the war and what happened to the other Crystal gems could be pretty sad too.

Yeah, it would be pretty interesting to have a flashback episode about the war. What I think would make it sad, though, is if it had a bunch of other Gems we've never seen before, with the Foregone Conclusion that they've all been either corrupted or crushed, without bringing it up until the very end.

So can we talk about the REAL issue of this episode...that Maitre D was clearly Belly Bag in disguise right? UNCLE GRANDPA NEVER LEFT!

I don't cry at sad things, the only time I do cry is when I'm either in severe physical pain, or when I'm frustrated at life treating me unfairly.

In other news, I have never been so proud of Steven!

I liked It's Over (Isn't it?), but the 'isn't it' part repeated a bit too much for me.

Also, I had a thought: I want to see more episodes focusing on the other fusions (Opal, Sugilite, Sardonyx, and Alexandrite) in a non-introductory, non-combat role. I want the other fusions to have focus episodes just to explore their characters, as their own people and as representations of the Crystal Gem's relationships with each other.

So I read the episode on the recap page & noticed a line I don't recall. Greg considered saving some money for Steven's college fund but he shot him down on the logic it be a waste since Steven spends all his time with the Gems anyway. I think that would be a good idea for Greg to do, leaving money so Steven can get into a school of some kind. Cause the kid should get one.

I mean he's largely uneducated, he's never even heard of school till Connie told him what it was & even then he still doesn't completely comprehend it as the explantion was very little. Learning more of the world of humans & not just Gems would be a good balance. Also the fact it might provide him an opportunity to become more independeant as he gets older. He's spent pretty much his entire life with just his parental figures so going out into the world would be good for him.

I think Steven's logic was more that the fact that Gems go on missions all the time would wreak havoc on a tradition school schedule. Notice that he seemed a little more interested by the idea of online courses.

I'm more annoyed by the fact that Greg turned down the idea of heat, running water, plumbing, being able to bathe, having a kitchen, and a bed because, quote, "I've already got the van."

[up][up] Eh, he's being homeschooled by Pearl mostly & its pretty clear most of the lessons revolve bout Gem culture & the like. Most of his input bout humanity is from friends, associates & his father though.

[down] Yup there's that too. Even if she lived through most of the human age, her views are too biased to make for a teacher on human topics.

Well I saw the episode, here is my opinion:

-So Marty use his song as jingle?, now that look more dickish that drop beat dad.

-"Is that how you made it, with burgers?" ok that crack me up A LOT.

-is very quick episode but it 11 long and is a damn musical, nothing surprising here.

-of all songs I like "Its over" as the other two where...ok to me.

-Also it seen Rose have a VERY free spirit thing going on, is implied she have other men around(which explain the whole "you are just a novelty), the way she talk to Garnet and the way Pearl tlak to her she have a somewhat "Carpen diem" thing going on which counter homworld control freak tendecies....mmmmmm

-Overal the money was pretty much way to have the musical, nothing bad in itselft but it made the whole set up silly, nevertheless those suit are going to show letter.

Now about what other said: I dont think Garnet and Greg have harsh moment like amathyst or Pearl since she give him avice about their relationship and so far she have been pretty cool with it, the best I can see is Garnet talking about how dificult everything have been since Rose left.

Merely being full after a meal makes me tear up. Zootopia made me tear up four times. But actual crying, never! Unless tearing up over fiction is counted as crying already.

By the way, checking in, I came to the series via Attack the Light, and now I need an Archive Binge before I watch any more stuff. <3

[up] I don't know if it's against the rules to recommend this site, but you should check out "The World of Steven Universe". Just google it, and it should be the first result.

If this Summer of Steven is your first interaction with the show, then you've got a lot of catching up to do.

I wonder if there's any reason as to why Dee-Dee gets so many more chances to sing than Estelle and Michaela do.

Estelle is probably paid more to sing than anyone else in the cast. Perhaps Micheala has issues with singing in her Amethyst voice?

[up]That could be true.

Also, Garnet has been placed in the strong silent type role more or less. Amethyst shines through transformations. Her default other emotion seems to be anger, which doesn't get songs like Pearl being sad. I wish Garnet and Amethyst had more songs , though. I especially wish Sapphire would sing in every appearance; Erica Luttrell has a beautiful voice.

I really love Deedee's singing voice. Pearl's songs are some of my favorites.

I think Pearl just is a more likely person to sing out her troubles, really. Amethyst just lashes out in anger when she's troubled, and Garnet just... keeps to herself, I guess?

When we're done, there won't be anything left.
