Also this dance is reminding me of the Revolutionary Girl Utena movie.
Dang dough, missed it again...Mr. Universe.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I am super impressed by this episode. In almost any show I could name, a plot in which someone suddenly gets millions of dollars would inevitably lead to a goofy plot in which they lose it all in regrettable ways.
Instead, we got a super sweet and meaningful character-driven episode in which the money is just a backdrop and excuse for them all to be in nice suits. Greg didn't need to learn a lesson about money.
I have a message from another time...![]()

I actually like that the whole point of the episode was to make things less akward between Pearl and Greg.
Not that that's gonna stop shippers but *shrugs*

GUNDAMU GUNDAMUThat was seriously the best singing performance I've heard in the show. "Do It For Her/Him" and "It's Over (Isn't It)" are now my two favorite songs from the show. And, what a shock, "Strong In The Real Way", is third. "Stronger Than You" is a close fourth, though.
I wonder if it's because of her voice actress or where the songs are coming from in a character sense, but Pearl's song have been amazing. It's probably both.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawYeah, let's just friendship them. They have a beautiful friendship now, Greg is stinkin' rich, Pearl will fall in love with a nice gem who won't fool around with humans or die on her...
I want to cry...
Why must you do this to me Rebecca...
But the ending was beautiful.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. That was a really good episode. I don't know about the rest of you, but as far as I'm concerned it's been way too long since Pearl opened up a nice can of "Girl-Is-Messed-Up" on us. But grats to her for actually making progress on her issues. I half-wish Greg and Pearl's conversation could've been more in depth, but perhaps they've known each other long enough that they can let some things go unsaid.
Stray observations:
Greg's song mentions Brooklyn and the Bowery, confirming that Empire City is New York City. And yet the neighborhoods are named the same. Hmm.
Pretty heavy implication that Rose had human lovers before Greg, which I believe people have suspected before.
Why wouldn't they? I always thought that "Chille Tid" confirmed that Pearl is warm for Greg's form and is in denial about it.

Why is Pearl even there? WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME CRY, SHOW?
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
