My dad doesn't take this show seriously, because he's only overheard the goofy parts of episodes. I need to get him to overhear one of the dramatic, emotional parts. tongue

The goofy parts and the dramatic parts tend to overlap nowadays, as seen with Yellow Diamond's introduction and "Aw geez, those feelings are complicated!"

The writers remembered that this show has a human supporting cast.

[up]I will give "Drop Beat Dad" this: I liked older Marty's design. Clothing, unusually detailed aging lines, and expressions all tailored to make him ooze "slimeball".

Weird Vidalia only appeared at the end of the episode. I was also shocked that Sour Cream & Marty already met before. I figured they never actually encountered each other before.

Do we know Sour Cream's age?

Interesting to note how Marty went way out of the way to avoid actually calling Sour Cream "son".

I'll admit, Dropbeat Dad got kinda predictable for me once Marty showed up. I thought he would be promoting some other band (like his own) instead of that drink, but aside from that, I predicted most of the episode.

It was still a good episode, though. And funny, too.

His voice actor is 49. So is Sour Cream's, actually.

Sour Cream I can believe.

Guess his V As got the whole Dante Brasco thing going on.

I predicted Greg would get the money in this episode but not how.

I was a little bit surprised that Sour Cream and Marty knew of each other even prior to the episode starting. I thought it was possible, after the events of "Story for Steven," that Marty may have left town and never returned and thus had no idea he had a son.

Yeah, Greg's been calling Steven "Stu-ball" for... a long long time. I think it happened as far back as the first few episodes.

It's a reference to...something.

Most of the episode was really just building up to how he was going to betray everyone's trust. Steven falling for it, but for a bad reason, made it really obvious.

It seems that somewhere along the line, I was misled into thinking that this show follows the Rousseau Was Right philosophy. I don't know how I believed such a silly thing, but I am still disappointed to find that it's not the case at all. No, I am not bitter.
