[up]x4 ...Oh.

Though in that case, yeah, either they're lying straight to our faces, or they don't actually mean every weeknight, because if they haven't been able to dish out 30+ consecutive episodes in who knows how long until now, then they're not going to be able to do it again any time soon. Maybe by 'the whole summer', they only mean July? Or maybe they did somehow manage to pull 30+ episodes out of their arses and I'm just refusing to believe it?tongue

I'm looking forward to the next bomb, and precisely nothing else until we have hard fact stating otherwise.

Take the number of days since "Friend Ship" aired, divide it by ten, then subtract every episode that's aired since then. That's about how many episodes are finished by unaired.

Floor[353/10]-16=19+a few more by whenever this thing ends.

Now that the blackout is gone, TV Guide is back to exactly two weeks advance listing. The first episode will he revealed in a few hours.

Human DNA has 3 billion base pairs.

Encode these in 3 billion Si O2 repeating units of Quartz through isotope selection, multiply by average atomic mass of each unit of say 63 and divide through by 6.022×10^23 for Avogadro constant?

Result is that Rose can have many many times as much information encoded in the about one kg of her crystal.

The reason crossbreeding was even able to happen is that gems are so versatile. If it was another set of weird alien DNA trying to pair with human DNA, that never would have worked. But gems can project and shapeshift into whatever they want, within measure. You suppose Steven's gem is in a permanent state of projecting DNA, or something like that?

You suppose Steven's gem is in a permanent state of projecting DNA, or something like that?
I think his DNA is organic and no more a projection than the rest of his body. Otherwise the gem disruptors would have made his DNA disappear, and I think that happening even momentarily would give Steven every form of cancer possible.

So his entire body is organic except his gemstone, maybe, and there's some sort of complex equilibrium keeping it in place.

Or perhaps the gem disrupter wasn't able to work because it needed a certain set of conditions to work. The gem disrupter, in the simplest terms, needs to be able to react with the hard light gems are made of and do something to, well, disrupt it. But not anything else. It would be a safety hazard for it to be able to destroy other things, like the ship the gems were on, so it can only work on gems So what if it worked like a computer program that needs a specific set of terms to function, and no terms outside that function? Is it made entirely from light? Check. Does it have mass? Check. That's a gem. But Steven wouldn't have been able to fill those qualifications because at least 50% of his body is organic.

I also made a gif

And I point out that Steven was lightly effected by the disrupter. His body had glowing lines going across it, indicating that his body is made of hard light at certain points.

Steven is highly resistant to gem disruptors and not totally immune. Note that he didn't want to stand there getting shocked constantly to hold the curtain open.

@Burnett: So that would be 21 episodes. Almost exactly what I calculated!

So his entire body is organic except his gemstone, maybe, and there's some sort of complex equilibrium keeping it in place.
And his gem can manipulate organic matter (not only his own—see Stevonnie) the same way a regular gem manipulates Hard Light. I imagine it was difficult for Rose to get it that way.

If you assume he's immune, it probably makes his arm tired to push up against it, to hold the cell door open like that. That's reason enough for him to not want to do it for long. He didn't really seem to be in pain.

His body had glowing lines going across it, indicating that his body is made of hard light at certain points.
If those glowing parts were being disintegrated, then why wasn't Steven injured by their absence?

So we're basically getting almost a full season over the summer?

There's going to have to be a looooooong hiatus following this.
