They don't seem too "eh" on it now, so that didn't last long.

The answer to both of those questions is Pearl.
I wanna answer too!
My faves are Peridot and Connie (not a gem, but still awesome)
My favorite part of the show are the character arcs. For a show with such a dramatic, intricate plot I find it really cool that the show manages to be mainly character driven instead of mainly plot driven. This show has character arcs I've never seen in a children's show before, and they do it so well

My favorite Gem is Ruby. All the Rubies.
My favorite not-Gem is a tie between Lion and Connie. With Greg in second.
My favorite part of the show is the character interactions and how they grow and develop.
My various fanfics. My favorite aspect is how in-depth the characters are. Almost no other children's show is brave enough to show not just each character's likable attributes, not only their funny flaws, but also the ugliest side of their personality and how this side can badly hurt their loved ones.
My favorite Gem is Amethyst. She's funny.
My favorite aspect of the show? I guess the detailed backstory and how much focus is put on the psychology of the characters. I always loved speculating about what drives them. Although by this point we know them well enough that I haven't had a new speculation in like, ever.
My favorite Gem is Garnet. She's the master of comedy.
Favorite aspect of the show? Geez, there's so much I love about this show. And I agree that the depth and flaws and just sheer realness of the characters is what I love so much about it. All of the Gems are flawed, painfully so, but the show addresses these flaws very well and incredibly realistically. And it manages to do that while being incredibly optimistic and hopeful, which is not easy to do at all. It completely obliterates the idea that optimistic shows are inherently shallow and have shallow and barely flawed characters, and that if a show has depth and realistic characters, it has to be dark and gritty.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.Rubies don't usually survive for more than 50 years? But why would they die so- Oh. Right.

Besides the year thing, that might very well be the case...maybe not, but still.
They're just low level grunt soldiers, they get poofed and shattered all the times.

Well, I don't think it's annoying anymore. I've been indoctrinated too completely for that.
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics.
