Depending on logical pedantry it could give off the wrong impression.
I think Moff’s Law could be applied to this. That discussion was good fun and we all learned a lot (I know I did) So I consider it productive.
If you're getting to the point in your discussion where you're banging your fists on the table and screaming up to the heavens, "WHY CAN THIS CHARACTER BREATHE IN SPACE?? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!" then you need to calm down. But there's nothing wrong with analyzing. It can get very fascinating.
I don't know if you've ever heard of the Blackwell philosophical series. They analyze the philosophy contained different pieces of pop culture. They do everything from Star Wars to The Big Lebowski to 30 Rock. 300+ page books written by professors of philosophy. It's doubtful the author had much of what they wrote about in mind, but as a result of their over analyzing, they reach some fascinating points
I LOVE THIS SHOW I was bored and looking for something to fill the Gravity Falls-shaped hole in my life and I checked this show out on a whim and then I spend the next three days using every waking moment of my free time to binge watch and I just caught up to the current episode yesterday and I'm stunned by now good this show is and I only wanted something to entertain me WHY WAS I BORN WITH THE ABILITY TO FEEL and dammit I can't fall in love with a fictional character again the last time I did that I spent the next several years writing Frozen fanfiction nonstop and how soon until the next episode comes out and now I don't even want to have sex with people anymore I want to gem fusion with them WHY ISN'T THAT A REAL THING WHYYYYYYYYY I HATE THIS SHOW! *throws laptop across room and breaks down sobbing in the corner of my bedroom*
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics.Feeling your feelings is great, it lets you know that you're only human...which is also good according to Rosey Quartz. That rascal.
Also sorry to hear about your laptop, hopefully those fan-fics got saved.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.By the way, what are the chances that this show is going to get abruptly cancelled or have a rushed series finale? I've becomes a little bit paranoid about that happening after the millionth time...

I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics. It's not likely...CN isn't been cancelling many shows lately.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Well, "Same Old World" ends with Steven chuckling awkwardly at Peridot and Lapis not getting along, while "Barn Mates" ends with Steven genuinely chuckling at Peridot and Lapis kinda sorta getting along.
Might be a bit of a stretch to say that was intentional, though. It was past midnight when I made that post. >_>
Coincidence...kind of like how it was coincidental that this main character's b-day happened during the later half of the 2nd season, just like it did on a certain other show Sugar worked on.
I'd say it's just as unintentional.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I love overanalyzing the crap out of cartoons and shows and stuff, and I really enjoyed that discussion on Gem biology. I enjoy all our discussions on Gem biology (and half-Gem biology, in Steven's case, haha). I guess, because I like biology?
It's just fun to figure out how it all works. (Especially Steven's half-Gem status. How does that work? How much of Steven is Hard Light? Gem's Hard Light forms can't really grow, right, they just stretch, but they return to normal, so if half of his body is Hard Light, how could he have grown as a fetus. Or did he grow fully organic and then when Rose gave up her physical form, he became half Hard Light? ...or was it already confirmed that his body is organic and his gemstone is the only gem component. I dunno, I'm just rambling. I'll shut up now.)
Steven is not half-gem; he's a totally regular human. What happened was, Rose Quartz shapeshifted the proper female anatomy to give birth to him, then retreated back into her gem and instructed Greg to squeeze it into Steven's bellybutton. So every time Steven's used his powers, it's actually just been Rose telepathically hearing his commands and granting his requests. If Pearl wants to see Rose again, all she has to do is dig the gem out of Steven's bellybutton and convince Rose to re-form her body again.

But they keep putting the show on hiatus...it's like they're trying to pull a Gravity Falls, but not nearly as drastic.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. They are pulling a Gravity Falls, becuase these long breaks and big burst of episodes with hype in-between were what drummed up ratings and made them their money. They're not killing the shows, just stretching them out so they get as much out of them as possible. It would actually be in their worst interests to have less hiatuses.
The Blog The ArtI did say that it wasn't as drastic, I highly doubt this show's gonna gain 3 extra years because of these hiatuses.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I sometimes enjoy reading deeply into certain aspects of a series I like, but I don't do it because I think it needs to be done, I do it because it's fun. Other people...can get a wee bit too invested in the mechanics of a show.
Although during hiatuses, this thread tends to start going over topics that have been thoroughly exhausted, and I end up skipping pages worth of conversation.

You can tell how far gone I am by my tolerance for the intro song. When I watched the first episode, I was like, "Huh, this is that show with the lesbian space rocks, right? ...Okay, that theme song's annoying and cheesy but I'll give it a chance."
And then by the time I watched the most recent episode, I was like, "WE! ARE THE CRYSTAL GEMS! WE'LL ALWAYS SAVE THE DAY!"
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics. That seems not like something Gregory would say.

This Theme Song: Cheesy? Yes, very much so. Annoying? Eh...who knows for sure?

Death of the Author is the birth of the fandom?
