I'm thinking...a more accurate version of Tails' spindash, where the curls stick out of the ball, but also rotate with it instead of being detached from the butt of the fox.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Still sort of think the idea of male gems is a bit silly, though I suppose it is possible. The Crewniverse certainly could do it, but should they? I don't know, it just seems like an appeal to relatability in a show where, despite many of the cast's alien quirks and such, everyone can usually find at least one character who they can empathize with.
A theoretical Bismuth gem would be a somewhat more distinct possibility, though I think they'd edge more for a gender neutral character than an explicitly male character.
That was actually a joke, mang.
Centipeedle is an "it" through and through.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.IIRC, in an AMA, Rebecca Sugar said that they picked feminine pronouns pretty arbitrarily. Not sure how they all decided to go by female pronouns, but they saw two options, and decided to go with the feminine pronouns. Or something. It's supposed to be like all the One Gender Races that go purely by masculine pronouns, I guess.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.I can understand that, but I can't also help but look at the show's depictions of concepts like femininity and gender and think that they knew what they were doing when they decided to go with female as the "default" gem "gender".
They could have gone with all male pronouns, but knowing the show, knowing what it does, and knowing what it stands for in many cases, I really doubt they would have.
All male pronouns is the norm for these single gendered species, nobody wants the norm.

Oh, yeah, absolutely. I don't doubt that the Crewniverse picked feminine pronouns deliberately, considering how... subversive, I guess? Or progressive... the show is. When I said "they", I was referring to the Gems In-Universe.
So there's this triangle pattern that everyone's been noticing, right? I just noticed that it's in that Red Eye thing from way early in the series.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardThe Tri-force?
It's insignificant, only focus on da diamonds.

I didn't hear it originally...or during the many re-watches that come from sources.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Again, they (the gems) very well could. I just don't think they (the Crewniverse) would, and if they did they'd probably play it off closer to gender-neutral than straight out male. It's a show that takes a lot of pride in its positive depictions of gender and sexuality, so I'm not sure if they'd go for a straight out answer on something like that.
On the flip side, there are some fucking awesome ideas for male-voiced fusions. Mr. Multiverse (Steven and Greg) being voiced by Jack Black is one of my all time favorite ideas for anything ever.
Also, triangles mean New Diamond Authority. Three points, three sides, three Diamonds. They also play into the show's aesthetic somewhat, which is cool I guess.

It's a good thing Stephen conveniently never played the pronoun game with good ol', "reliable" ol' Centipeedle creature.
Wouldn't it have been...moderately droll...to have the Centipede creature be a male gem. It looks male-ish enough.
