CG Pearl is probably more colorful because she wants to be. She wants to feel like she has more worth than what the common standardized Pearls are like in Homeworld.

Plus the glow from the communicator.

And Rose is pink. Everyone is monochrome.

The credits list her name as "Yellow Pearl". So I'm going to bet she's yellow, even if it's a less saturated color than what we see in "Message Received"

I've heard they revisit the style in Lapis Lazuli's flashback. It would be neat for that to be the standard art style for Homeworld, aside from the planet itself when we'll eventually get there.

Lapis' flashback took place on Earth...so that may never be the case.

I actually thought Jasper may have been green when she first appeared because of the glow from the ship. I was like, everyone looks green, even Lapis. What colour is this Jasper supposed to be?

I think what color Pearl was monochrome to was interesting though.

Her hair is pink and her shirt was blue.

Rose herself was turned pink when she's mostly white.

"It seems like when gems fuse their gems actually change for the duration of the fusion. "

I see fusion being as sort of gestalt being, new born of sych of other, unless they argue, this make fusion pretty strong but in theory pretty fragil since any major disagreement can unbound them

"And we don't know that our Pearl was Rose's property. "

even if she wasnt, Pearl act in that way which is mayor source of conflict

"She somehow dissapear and suddenly, the original four-diamond symbol (white, blue, yellow, pink) is replaced with a symbol with only three diamonds (white, blue, yellow). And nobody even say a thing about Pink Diamond. "

what is this pink diamong you speak off? there are only three diamonds, I repeat they have ALWAYS being three diamondstongue

Either one of them was born dead-io or the gem splits in half and they get half the power...only being able to use the full power through team-work.

[up] I have no idea how that would work. Rose's main genetic contributions are, from what I can tell, through her gem, which can't exactly be easily split in two while still functioning properly, or at all. So you'd at least have one child fully human... but where would the genetic material come from then?

Re: Rose and Pink Diamond, the common theory implies that Rose herself isn't really like any of the other Quartz's we've seen in the series so far, and while that could be explained by her being in a less combat focused role, it could also be explained by Rose not being a Quartz at all.

Maybe the twins would have to hold hands to use Gem abilities, like the Wonder Twins or Mas y Menos or the Rooster and Turtle Knight.

Or maybe one would be bellybutton Gem and the other would be full human. And possibly look like the older sibling at this point considering Steven's stunted growth.

Rose's powers being more defensive doesn't mean she a less combat oriented gem...she took out the Ruby fusion with brute force.

[up] In any case, her case of abilities seems not suited to a warrior gem, and all the Quartz's we've seen so far have been warriors.

Rose was the ultimate tank. She had an impenetrable shield and bubble. And her healing powers were undoubtedly EXTREMELY useful in battle, assuming she had better use of them than Steven. She was definitely an asset in combat

She could also create artificial warriors from natural nature...though how useful this was is totally depending.
