[up][up]I've just been binging 3 that were relatively recent.

That wasn't one of 'em.

(˙—˙): I may watch that at some point, but for right now I'm strictly new....newb.

(-_-): Also...stuck on a Comics high and quite possibly a Manga marathon could also happen. On the bright side, I get to read Stephen Quartey Universe comics.

If there's any reason I want Rose is Pink Diamond theory to come to, it's so that the Josuske pseudo-reference in Steven and the Stevens can come full circle with Shine on You Crazy (Pink) Diamond.

Nobody did any references to Killer BOB from Twin Peaks?

Damn that show was awesome.

[up][up]With all due respect, I doubt Rose could be Pink Diamond. Quartzes and Diamonds are not really related.

[up][up]I mean.

I feel like it's narratively the most likely possibility.

That Moonbase and that Chair and that Console were all said by Peridot to have been for Diamonds.

Steven activated the system.

To me, the most interesting possibilities for the beginning of a Rebellion are a Pearl or a Diamond. The bottom or the top. The middle is boring.

It makes Steven even more unique in a lot of ways. A sort of Prince. And since the show is named after him and revolves around him. Is about him.

Of course, there is the question of how. I dunno that.

Maybe Pink Diamond stole someone else's gem or something. Or changed her gem somehow or. I dunno.

Like, there's a lot we don't know about how gems work? And with speculative fiction. You can make any explanation you want.

Nah, Rose is definitely too different to secretly be Pink Diamond.

If I had to make a guess I'd say she was pretty high up there though. Especially considering she had her own Pearl. Maybe one of Pink Diamond's favorites.

Oh really when?

We don't even know anything about Pink Diamond.

I think saying that they're too different is.

Like, I can imagine a being like a Diamond choosing to unmake or remake itself, and destroy its previous existence to live in a new form.

Which is notably basically what Rose did with Steven.

And sorta what happens during fusion.

Garnet's gems are purple. Different from Ruby's red and Sapphire's blue.

Rubies and Sapphires are both corrundum but neither is similar to Garnet chemically.

It seems like when gems fuse their gems actually change for the duration of the fusion.

And we don't know that our Pearl was Rose's property.

And that's the problem about characters who suffer from the Trotsky treatment. You don't know a thing about them.

wild mass guess Diamonds are incredibly powerful cross-gem fusions, and the real reason they forbid fusion is so no one can become powerful enough to challenge them or discover their secret.

Oissu!

I'm not even sure I have evidence about Pink Diamond or, hell, Rose herself to make any guesses one way or another.

But from a purely narrative perspective? It's what I expect.

[up][up][up]She somehow dissapear and suddenly, the original four-diamond symbol (white, blue, yellow, pink) is replaced with a symbol with only three diamonds (white, blue, yellow). And nobody even say a thing about Pink Diamond.

Garnet didn't have a name when she formed the first time, she just came up with it later. So it doesn't seem to have anything to do with mineral science, anyway. She pretty much called herself that because she thought it sounded good.

I don't think why Garnet gave the name she did was explicit.

They had a song about how they made a new type of gem when they fused.

"And it wasn't quite me and it wasn't quite you I think we made something entirely new"

Garnet's gems are visibly a different colour.

I feel like"Our" Pearl was white Diamond's at first. If only because Blue and Yellow Diamond's Pearl's matched gem locations with their respective Diamonds, along with being their Diamond's color.

She also knew where the Diamond base was and the first to mention it. And Yellow and Blue Pearls have the same color and Gem positions as their Diamonds, so it seems fairly obvious.

Apparently Yellow Pearl has white skin and only appears yellow because of the communicator's filter and glow. Someone removed the glow; I'll see if I can find a link to it. And everyone was monochrome in Garnet's story.

I always chalked up Yellow Pearl being seemingly all yellow and Blue Pearl being seemingly all blue while CG Pearl has a more complex color pallette to the fact that main characters usually have more unique designs than one-shots

The scene where Yellow Pearl is standing next to Yellow Diamond shows she's still yellow.

Here.

Also, in the Sky Arena in The Answer, "our" Pearl was white.

[up]Yellow Pearl's skin looks white in that shot. It's hard to tell, since she's a good distance from the camera.
