@Dog: you need the proper theme to come with that

I wasn't expecting that.

On a side note, what's that black sphere above their ship? Some kind of portable black hole thingie?

This clip is made of awesome, but did you realize that “Bob” was actually a reference to “Ocean Gem”?

Wonder what they want with Jasper, especially considering they don’t seem to care at all about Peridot. It can’t be about the mission, because Peri would know just about as much as Jasper.

I wonder what cyclops Ruby meant with that “thank you.” I don’t think it was for telling them where Jasper is. I don’t have any proof, but I’m going to guess that she’s part of an underground group on Homeward that thinks the Diamonds need to be overthrown.

I kind of thought they were looking for Jasper.

I'd love to see these Rubies again, but I can see the Crewniverse putting this much effort into characterizing even one-time characters.

Apparently, Gem placement determines your personality. I mean, I've noticed it before, but I just figured it was symbolic.

Nah, it's definitely symbolic. I doubt the Crewniverse would make it a "biological" thing like that.

Well, I was waiting until after it aired to say this (since I watched the leaked ones): This was the cutest goddamn episode of the show.

I think it was also one of the funniest, with all of the dialogue. Lapis in general was the best part of the episode.

Kind of a shame the Rubies left soon after they arrived, but the episode was just great all-around.

One-eye is the bad-tempered one of the group. She was probably hard-pressed to thank them for helping.

After that very serious trailer, I wouldn't have expected the "In Too Deep" event to end with Steven thwarting a group of Homeworld mercenaries by beating them at Baseball/telling them a bunch of hilariously obvious lies.[lol]

This episode was seriously so great. It was so hilarious, so freaking gay (flipping hell, Ruby and Sapphire are so adorably obnoxiously in love, it's amazing), the Rubies were so stupid but so entertaining, Lapis was so wonderfully surly, it was great.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.

When all of the currently looming threats (Jasper, the Cluster, YD, Homeworld in general) are in a state where they're not problems until the writers bring them up again, you start to wonder if the show wants those threats there at all.

Well, I don't think they want them there in the sense that they're constantly breathing down our heroes' necks. That would probably distract from more relaxed (but still important) character plots, while also undermining the tension, if they were always fighting and getting defeated by our heroes (or defeating our heroes, for that matter).

We're nowhere near the endgame yet - I think we can afford to have some things lurking in the background.

Oh God! Natural light!

After that very serious trailer...

That's the one thing that bugged me about this. The marketing for this block of episodes made it seem like it was going to be some "Revelations" kind of thing. Especially with the "what we really are" playing over and over again.

I like the episodes for what they were, but they weren't nearly as "epic" the ad made it seem like they were going to be.
