@Scott Pilgrim 2013: No, that's just Ruise's opinion on the episode. Not like a consensus or anything.

I didn't mind the "typical parent obedience lesson ". I thought it was pretty funny. Plus it'd make sense that they called out Steven for doing that. It'd be worse if they didn't call him out on it.
TBH, I haven't seen much beyond Stevonie's debut episode(Forgot the name). I've seen bits and parts of episodes after that. It's just that at this point, I've been spoiled on so many things with this show, I don't really care any more. I actively go out of my way to spoil it for my self cause why the fuck not? I got accidentally spoiled on what happened after I lost track of watching the show the first time(I stopped watching it way early in Season 1. Before Lapis' first episode, actually). Mostly cause I've never gotten used to CN's current schedule.

In fact, and funnily enought, THAT'S the reason because I didn't liked "Catch and release" very much at first. I liked as any other episode, but I never expected nor wanted a redemption for Peridot. What's more, I never expected such Villain Decay, because I thought she could be a great villain. Objetively I have no unfaorite Steven Universe episode, but subjetively, I put Catch and release, abeit only for the initial impression. Now a days I'm more chilled about the subject.

x5 Unfortunately whenever I see it on shows, it never really feels natural. I don't hear real disappointment from the parentals.
Also where the judgemental other parents get a realization epiphany,

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Having the kids try to runaway was pretty dumb...I'd rather not gone that route and pick a more in-character route for Steven.
One that allows more adventures, experience, and new powers. Running away is pretty much bad end...and a waste of money because it locks you out of the other route after you save.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I guess I oughta do this too.
Favorite Season 1A episode is "Steven the Sword Fighter", least favorite is "Joking Victim".
Favorite Season 1B episode is "Rose's Scabbard", least favorite is "Island Adventure".
Favorite Season 2 episode is "Sworn to the Sword" (There's a pattern here...), least favorite is... Geez, might get some shit for this, but "Friend Ship" felt really off to me.
Favorite Season 3 episode is the one that's airing tomorrow.
They chose to run away because...the dinner was going south, even though they were just having an argument about Connie being embarrassed/ashamed of Steven.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice."Probably shirt club is my least favorite episode, just because it's kind of meh, and not very memorable. "
Yeah, the mayor son is somewhat dull and the conflict seen hollow
"Historical Friction made Pearl into a try-hard for the next episode, it served its purpose. "
Maybe, aside of seen Pearl the typical stage mon and subverting the whole "embarrsing parent" the episode dosent apeal much to me.
"My least fave is Fusion Cuisine. It was literally painful to watch. "
God yes, I could never stand this kind of episode, granted that make Steven ground for 10.000 years
also Garnet line of "comedy is based on fear" was awsome, still dosent worth it
"Was Barn Mates that bad? "
It was diferent, almost all conflict have been between individual who already know each other, here was more a clash of view that everything else
"My favorite was and still being "Jailbreak" because it had action, a catchy song and a great plot. "
....Meh, maybe is because I was already spoliled of Garnet being a fusion(but in retrospective it was REALLY obvious) but I feel to quick for being a season final.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Ah. I guess I kinda understand since they likely just saw it as just any ole argument and didn't want to hear it. Granted, they likely should've just walked a bit away instead of deciding to run away. Then again, this is S1 Steven. While not stupid, he was still a lot more prone to doing dumb things at times during the 1st season.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013It was Connie's idea...he just said "yeah"...basically.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Steven was Connie's only genuine friend (and still is, as of Full Disclosure), she was afraid her parents were about to separate her from him, and she had yet to find the inner strength knuckle up and talk to them the way she did in Nightmare Hospital. It's not impossible that she would rather be separated from her parents than Steven if she had a choice.
Also I'm pretty sure Stevonnie's panic/anxiety attack in Alone Together came from Connie's mind, not Steven’s, so there's that, for whatever it's worth.

Even them, a conflict that requiere the gem to fused come as...forced, even more with S2 devolptment of Garnet and her view of fusion, is just....meh
For me connie parent at bit of scrappy by mixing arbitrary sckeptism to them.
And Stevonie panic atack?...yeah, Connie feel weird by being just one and not having Steven around and him being somewhat of a doormaat just go alone.
In way, one can read fusion as having a child since another being is born with union of two people
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
x4 That anxiety attack really doesn't have anything to do with that situation.
Yes Steven...he's her only friend, but he's usually the one who hearts up a tense situation. He's the one who should've second guessed that idea, even immediately.

Awkward Com. If Fusion Cuisine didn't have the typical parent obedience lesson at the end...it would've been less awkward and more liked.
Nobody gets disciplined by parental figures anymore, get with the times Steven Universe crew.
