Pearl protect da Earth because of Rose Quartey...not unbelievable...unconceivable.
Perry winkle protects da earth because of Steven Quartey Universe.
Those are reasons.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
I only said Steven because she bonded herself to him first.
Without constant updated check-ins on the cluster, not even Home World knew when it would be ready to hatch...they sent that ragtag group of Rubies too late. Jaspee would've been shattered along with everyone else if Steven and Peridot didn't stop the cluster.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I still love the thing she said when the Cluster was materializing.
"Steven, I'm sorry I couldn't save you or the billions of other lifeforms who matter far, far less to me."
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()

She care human and earth...but now in the way steven, rose or anyone else tought
Peridot is utilitarian, and in her own way like earth for the posibilities it brings, her tryting to parley with YD is her version of the golden brige fallacy "Once I explain with perfect logic why earth dosent need the cluster to great Yellow diamond will back off proce with more benevolent take over" when YD throw thing for spite then Peridot swich over, as far she can tell YD is stupid evil.
Compare that with Pearl who see to have a duty based mentality, even describing war as glorious because rose was there and dosent fully understand the risk as long her love one was there, her somewhat condesending tone mirror Peridot a lot.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"To be fair to YD, what is one planet's worth of resources when you have a whole universe of planets to leech onto with your parasitic ways.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
Resources that you should expend more on the glory of homeworld instead of blowing a planet because you are butthurt.
Peridot have advance quicly because she need to throw way what she learn in homeworld about gems behivor, Lapis was the first thing she relie on her own, also is more a conflict of worldviews that anything else(Peridot being utilitarian and logic thinkin that because she is with Steven, she is good against Lapis who run more in risk adversion)
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"We can't really use the "Every little bit counts" excuse when there's no lack of resources from other planets, the well isn't running dry any time soon.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Peridot was just uninformed. Like a person who believes all the good things about a leader figure who they've never actually met or seen.
Basically Peridot over-hyped Yellow Diamond to herself.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I do see YD having more interesting motives to the destruction of the planet, but yeah from Peridot's perspective it was basically just YD being annoyed with Earth for no particular reason.
I always saw Pearl and Garnet's motives as being somewhat similar. Ignoring Pearl's raging homolust for Rose Quartz, Pearl and Garnet both basically stand for the Rebellion itself, just for different reasons. Pearl's desire to be no longer bound by the societal constraints of Homeworld, and Garnet's desire to be no longer bound by the emotional restraints of Homeworld.
She doesn't want to bound to societal constraints(?)...but until Friendship, I'd definitely believes she was still had the mentality of being bound to it.
Until I seem some definitive proof otherwise, I still may be believing that Pearl still requires a rock to lean on for support.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I think she's still got some lingering self-confidence issues, but Garnet wouldn't have forgivven her if she couldn't resolve to try and stand on her own two feet. That was the point. That not her, not Steven, not even Rose should be her crutch, she needed to be her own Gem.
In "Back to the Barn" Pearl acknowledged her status while keeping her own identity and blowing off some steam with that punch.
Pearl since soport the rebellion more for Rose, well while Garnet recount the war as hell, Pearl said it was pretty much glorious because Rose was there, she try to understand why Quarz chose earth but still have a hard time grasping it, even them she long for empire and homeworld or a least to show Steven all the thing they did.
Garnet is more dificult to pin down, but she is in rebellion because Rose acept her or what she is. also Garnet seen to have more of issue with Homeworld controling nature
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"She didn't say anything about Homeworld...she just wanted to show Stephen the wonder of travelling through space.

I understood the point of "Friendship"...but I forgot about "Back to the Barn"...even though Garnet and Amethyst were cheering her on.
Speaking of Yellow Diamond, based on trends of antagonist Gems, how many appearances until she's a goober?
My various fanfics.

Amathys and Lapis have issue about belong and identity and have a nasty tendecy of lash against everyone they feel wrong them for some reason while Peridot and Pearl protect earth for some unconvencionalo reason, so they fit better
