Ian Jones-Quartey will not longer field questions about Steven Universe
because the broadcasts have caught up to where production was when he left. "Barn Mates" was the last episode he's credited as a co-executive produce for.

Matt: "Yep, that's why I'm done answering questions about the show. Not worth the trouble."
This episode reminds me of a fan-made comic I read, made during the last hiatus, about Lapis forgiving Peridot that went in a...different direction than this episode. I'd recommend reading it, but I can't remember the title for the life of me.
I'm not much into shipping characters, but it's a well-made comic, and written in the spirit of the show. Jasper's in it too, since the artist thought that not only would both her and Lapis get brought back to the barn, but that the Cluster problem still wouldn't have been solved by the time Jasper got brought onto the team. The artist even wrote her like how she'll probably be once she's on their side in the show.
If I find the title, I'll edit this to include it and a link.

"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawI'd love to see Peridot's half as this massive sprawling technological wonderland, and then Lapis' half is totally unchanged and is totally looks the exact same.
Even keeping the hole made by Perry winkle's giant robot.
To let nature in.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, the conflict in barn mate is more in onflict worldviews.
Lapis clearly have a "kept distance" mentality which it show, she is not malevolent ot mean but if she feel someone is getting wrong she will lash out as ocean gem show, everything have to be in her own term or nothing.
Peridot on the other hand is more utilitarian, she see her past action as that, past she already distant herself and she can at least coexist with Lapis, she even try to present that logic to Lapis expecting the "fact" show Peridot have change but Lapis have none of that.
Also the family analogic is spot on: Garnet is the coold stoic dad, Pearl is sensitive but hard working mon, Amathyst is cool sis, peridot the tech guy of the house, Lapis would be the Daria or snarky sister who is choke in her on saltyness,
Also Lapis is salty because she take all salt from the ocean in Ocean gem

Garnet's cold stoic-ness went away a long time ago...I don't think that really fits anymore.
