Now I got all I need to go along with Steven Tale.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Basically my opinion.
I think Lapis has pretty understandable circumstances and feelings, honestly, and I love how supportive and understanding Steven was about letting Lapis leave and live on her own terms, which is exactly what's driving her now.
Like, no joke: if Lapis hadn't been in the wrong place at the wrong time, she never would've ended up alerting Homeworld of what happened, everything involving that mess never would've come to pass, and thus the Cluster never would've been bubbled which would've destroyed the planet.
This is so damn heavy to think about.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Did anybody else wince when Lapis got stepped on? Or when she got poofed?

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Given what we've been shown, it's highly unlikely that anybody over on the CG side even knew it had a Gem imprisoned in it.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987well we all expected that to be bigger than it was
the fans of the future who Archive Binge are gonna read all those old theories and be like "lol"
moved to Oceanstuck because this handle was starting to bother me my tumblr![]()
They knew, that's why they were acting so suspect.
No, the suspicion now seems like just general paranoia - up to that point they kept fighting corrupted Gems and didn't know what to expect with the mirror acting like it did, especially Garnet who never wanted to take any chances in that regard.
Pearl's wording leaves an ambiguous impact on my opinion hold.
"I couldn't have imagined that a Gem so powerful was inside that mirror."
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'm glad she finally explained her backstory, though it wasn't much. She just got bitter against the Crystal Gems not because they imprisoned her, but because they gave Homeworld cause to use her.
So she's moving into the barn with Peridot. That'll be fun.
Once they dig Jasper back up out of the dirt they'll have a nice septet. But I can bet that winning over Jasper will take all of Steven's all-loving-heroness.
And she'll definitely have a lot of loyalty to Homeworld and hatred for the Crystal Gems.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayGlad we got to see how Lapis ended up in that mirror. The fact that Pearl just found a mirror on the ground one day does take a lot of the blame off them. They didn't put her in the mirror, and until Steven Started playing with it I don't think they knew a gem was even in there. They thought it could only show stuff and didn't have a mind of it's own. Only when it did start to show it had a mind of it's own they were they afraid of it, probably thinking it was a gem loyal to Homeworld. It would be harder to say the Crystal Gems were totally good guys if they had intentionally kept Lapis imprisoned, but it looks like they honestly didn't know, so they weren't malicious about it.
Judging by the way everyone evacuated Earth all panicky like, plus the flash in the sky, it definitely suggests that Homeworld used some super-weapon on Earth to wipe out the Crystal Gems. This is almost definitely what was responsible for all the corrupted Gems.
With Peridot reformed, Malachite broken up and the Cluster taken care of we've eliminated three major threats to Earth and several story arcs that have been floating around for a while. Now the only thing that's an immediate threat is Jasper. Homeworld could rear its head again but if the Gems were to, say, bubble Jasper then things would be just like they were when the series started, with corrupted gems taking top priority. The only difference would be that Lapis and Peridot are around.
What I'm surprised about is that despite that, it seems Homeworld unambiguously lost. You'd think being radically outnumbered would mean that the C Gs only survived, not actually won.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Actually, that is not quite right. That was the original grievance, but the fact the Crystal Gems never took her out of the mirror is still an important factor. "You three knew I was in there. And you didn't do anything" was the first thing Lapis said to them, after all. They mught not be who imprisoned her, but they did kept her prisoner nonethelessnote . Also, she was originally in the Homeworld camp, so she never had a positive opinion on the CG in the first place. It was not just some misdirected bitterness.
That is not quite right either. Lapis never told Homeworld what happened. It was Peridot, who came independently, who actually alerted Homeworld. Lapis was found out after the fact. So even if the whole mess with Lapis never happened, Peridot would still have come to Earth and possibly warned about the Cluster regardless (the events would have happened differently, though, so who knows how would have went out?).

Alright guys, this is gonna be a heads up for anyone hoping not to be spoiled: On May 21st, Barn Mates and Hit the Diamond are gonna be airing in France, and Steven Floats is gonna be airing on May 22nd. Because of that, if anyone decides to watch them before they air in the US, discuss them in the Spoilers and Leaks thread and don't discuss them here for people who don't wanna see them until they air in the US.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Short Run in Peru, more or less. Adventure Time had that happen last season with the episode Evergreen.
