I find it funny how he's basically right about everything and wrong about everything at the same time. And sometimes I find it funny how he goes to extremes. But there are times where he takes it a bit too far for my taste.
I really want Peridot to meet him. Because she's naive enough to believe some of what he says, but smart enough to figure out it's not true by the end of an episode. Also she needs to meet Lars. That's comedy gold waiting to happen.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It being a threat to all life on Earth has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not it’s sympathetic. It was a forced fusion, which, as you said, were portrayed as sympathetic.
Yes, she did have justification. The fact that she perceived it as such automatically qualifies it as self-defense. If she perceives her actions as self-defense, it’s utterly impossible for them not to be, no matter what the reality of the situation is. The reality of the situation is completely irrelevant. Someone cannot act based on information they are unaware of.
Yes, it does. It being emotional doesn’t make it wrong. Anything Lapis believes she did out of self-defense automatically qualifies as self-defense and thus automatically qualifies as fine.
Trying to escape the hostile territory of those who imprisoned her? Yes.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So, all my half-crazed ramblings on this show aside, I did notice a small thing missing within the TV Tropes repetoire. I personally, would think Jasper is a Large Ham. Think about it; every line she has is either over-the-top angry yelling or growled whispers. Hell, I could hear her make the "While you were still learning to spell your name!" speech and it would make perfect sense and fit her. So, who's with me on adding her to the Large Ham page?
Over-the-top screaming?
Hmm, I guess yelling at Sapphire was a little over-the-top.
I think that's just the way she talks...she's all gruff and no bluff.
If you think someone is trying to hurt you, then killing them is, by definition, not attempted murder. It's self-defense and not a crime at all. There's nothing to justify. No wrong was done.
EDIT: Smokey doesn't win because Smokey is factually incorrect. It's not a matter of opinion, it's fact.

I don’t hate Ronaldo like a lot of people seem to, but I don’t exactly look forward to episodes featuring him, either. I still think his high point as a character was when the Watermelon Stevens attacked him and he asked, “Steven, is the camera getting all this?”
I actually like Ronaldo and Lars to a degree, but that's because I'm waiting for the moment that redeems them. Ex., Defiant Stone Throw towards Homeworld, Ronaldo charging in with the battle cry "My worldview is vindicated!", etc. But that probably won't happen.

I dislike Lapis, but for completely different reasons than you guys are discussing. I have a history with people like her.

My reaction is like that of Steven; one of concern and worry.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
