Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Note that Peri doesn't have more of the fix-it juice so must have been assigned that first time out.
Precog and healing seem to be two powers the Diamonds hold very close to them. So what's the difference between being part of the court of X and general pop? Peri was at least one level down from YD, possibly several levels down. How many steps up would be the first gem above her who had a pearl?
Jasper was able to override Peridot and order her to turn around, so I would say she outranks Peridot.
Dunno what rank Lapis would be, or why she was a prisoner of Homeworld.
Also, how does Peridot know what singing is when she talks about Pearl singing and crying and singing while crying when she doesn't know what music is.
My Theory: Something has happened to Music on Homeworld. This is evidenced by Yellow Diamonds Theme
, which sounds like Giygas's Theme and The Silent Hill Soundtrack had an baby and it threw up.
Real talk, what part is whitewashing here? Pearls serve the traditional role of servants on Homeworld, though I'd argue that they're no less slaves than literally almost every other gem in the universe is. They all serve a hierarchy determined by genetics, and exist to serve higher rulers. I'd argue that it's closer to a caste system then slavery, at least slavery as it was in the days of the African slave trade.
Still, if it's Pearl's role within the Rebellion, I wouldn't really compare it to a page. Rose wasn't pushing Pearl into anything, it's Pearl's own lack of self worth from years of conditioning that was pushing her into that lower role. And, centuries after the fact, she still hasn't completely gotten over that. Rose would have let Pearl do her own thing, the only thing holding Pearl back was herself.
That being said, it's not wrong for Pearl to want to do the chores. She's an orderly person, she likes helping. Even if that was (part) of her role as a servant, it's perfectly within her domain to do so. She wants to do it, and that's what matters more than what she would be doing on Homeworld.
Watermelon village...story starts with music similar from their debut episode.
