Ah, yeah, pretty sure Jasper dying would definitely be a lot worse.
Although it would probably still be way easier on my feels than seeing her be all Defrosting Ice Queen Tsundere adorable will be. My poor, weak kokoro...

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I sort of doubt that we'll have an Earth centric finale. Because as much as YD wants Earth to die, she still doesn't see much worth in going to it herself. I could see there being some sort of an "earth finale" before the actual ending in space, maybe they find something incredibly dangerous on Earth from the remnants of the rebellion... well, something else other than the Cluster, and stopping it causes a sequence of events that leads to our heroes having to go into space.
I'd put the space sequence as the penultimate season. This ends with the CG seeming to win a great victory but at the end it's all revealed to be a trap to capture Steven.
This will have been hinted at a bit earlier when Garnet immediately attacks Steven's 3-fusion form, until Pearl stops her and tells her that it is Steven.
Ultimate season starts with our sad sacks back on Earth kicking themselves for being such fools then the four diamonds arrive led by a slightly different looking Rose Diamond. Big battle sees Connie help lure Steven from the evil Rose Diamond fusion to the good Rose Diamond fusion and so on.
My main problem is that it makes Earth a bit more important than I think it is. It's certainly symbolically important, and it holds the potential to make widespread changes, but it by itself isn't that important. If the Diamond Authority put its full attention towards destroying Earth, Earth would be gone. Even if they revived all the shattered gems on Earth, they'd still get crushed. The inaction of the Diamond Authority is the CG's greatest advantage, and ultimately I sort of doubt that a finale would even really end in a big blowout finale battle.
A satisfying ending for the series would need to show that Rose made the right choice to bet on Steven, which means that his humanity must be critical not just in itself, but in the connection to humanity in general. So it's not the midichlorians in his blood, but how he connects to Connie. Which means Steven must be tempted towards the gem side of his heritage and choose a balance with the human side so the Steven-Connie bond must be tested.
Yes, but I feel like that could be shown by a space centric ending. Showing how Steven isn't a gem by comparing him with all the other gems on the gem homeworld. Showing this sort of split in character, his development as a character, and how Steven is an inherent Spanner in the Works through showing how his very presence can cause significant change in the world around him.
I still want a scene where all the people of Beach City band together towards a greater goal, but I feel like it wouldn't work as a series finale.
They still got stuff to do with her first before any of that happens. Malachite's not going to be the end of Jasper, I know it. It's like a reverse Garnet, we need to get to know both the fusion and the components of said fusion. In this case of course, we want them unfused asap.I imagine the last arc of the series might have the Gems go in space. Beach City's important, but unless they can get the population on a ship, theey're going to have to find a way to keep the humans safe when Homeworld comes by for a visit. Rebecca Sugar when asked if we'll ever go to Homeworld, she said a "maybe".

Wondering when I'm coming back,
