The "What?" moment in "Message Received" was a change in methods, but her motive all along was to protect and stay with Steven. She just assumed that YD didn't know the situation on the ground so one message would all it would take to save the Earth. Steven also wasn't listening to Peridot, but he's just a kid.
Poor Perry-dottle, that's not how you crush.
You don't write your crush love letters, you write nice love poems for everyone excluding your crush.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Now that Connie is no longer looking at Steven through rose colored lenses she can see that he's better off with his own kind. Ergo she doesn't even show up for the previews.
...But...
Rose's healing powers only work on crystal lifeforms or on items that are transformed into crystal tech. So Connie herself is a crystal monster and no longer purely an organic lifeform. Note how she takes much harder blows since her transformation without getting all scuffed up.

Pearl couldn't do anything, she was too busy fighting her evil water self. Don't blame that on her.
Also, that reminds me, i REALLY hope that once Connie meets Lapis, she responses by drawing a sword and then points out that Lapis TRIED TO DROWN HER. If that doesn't happen i will be very disappointed with the Crewiverse. Not as much as i will if the Diamonds get away with no punishment for their crimes, thou.
That wasn't about blaming Pearl, that was about Lapis' own lack of concern for Steven's well-being.
And I think that assumes that Steven won't have told Connie about Lapis beforehand, which he could easily do. Their first meeting would probably be awkward, yes, but I don't think she necessary needs to start pointing swords at people.
Oh God! Natural light! She won't "point" swords at people.
She'll just always be in defense stance...with a bat.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Maybe she'll be reflexively defensive for moment, like Steven was with holo-Pearl in Sworn to th Sword. It'd make a really nice Call-Back moment.

Is this some Tumblr thing? Because that's never been implied in the show.

Implications stated otherwise first, so there.

That's put there to enforce the opposite thoughts.

Flip-Flop of God is a thing that happens, She could always be assuming a different character interpretation that turns out not to be true later. She's a storyboard artist after all, not exactly one of the writers like Matt or anything.
