Steven didn't really reform Lapis...she's got nowhere to turn to other than the CG. Only because Steven is apart of them, the only person to treat her nicely...
Home World is a no go, the times have changed and she apparently can't adjust.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. We don't know much about the common gem...so, maybe we could get a little more info about the world and how people act there. We've seen prejudice and not else.
It'd be like the reverse of what Avatar:TLA did with its antagonist group, it makes you hate them even more.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The Diamonds, not the society as a whole. We still know very little about them though.
I hesitate to call them pure evil if only because they're still shrouded in mystery. It's a very safe bet they are, but I don't think we can be sure yet, not when Rose's own past is unexplored.
My guess is it'll take the Mother series route. The villains create their own hell from which there is no escape out of their own evil deeds.
...and that's good don't ya know?
Irredeemable villains are the way of the future.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Rose and Alexandrite.
Lapis is an anime.
what we really are................
Sometimes, villains who stay villains are good. I've said before, if Jasper must be 'redeemed' the most I see is her graduating to Anti-Villain. I could see some sympathy somehow thrown the Diamonds way, and I'll be surprised if the theoretical Pink/Blood Diamond turns out to have been evil all along, but I don't see any more than one, maybe, being turned good.
My prediction is that the Diamonds (or at least Yellow Diamond, who's the only one who's really been shown so far) will be exiled forever, but not killed, because that doesn't strike me as something Steven would allow, even if the Diamonds are really evil.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...Even if the Diamonds do get "redeemed," that doesn't mean they should get a Starlight Glimmer treatment and just be absolved of all their crimes. In real life, even if a person does feel truly guilty and wants to be a better person, that doesn't just absolve them of all the crimes they committed. They still have go to jail. Their slate isn't wiped clean just because they're redeemed now.

Or...maybe he lets the CG break the Diamonds because he grows.
The true right of passage in cartoon hero-hood is realizing when to shatter someone.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. That sounds like the premise for a sequel.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Because...if that doesn't happen, the cycle could restart in reverse.
With any Gems off homeworld becoming the new rebels, meeting up on any Gem controlled planet that may have been overlooked during the liberation ceremony. These rebel gems didn't get the memo and now think everyone else is mind controlled. They plan to take it back.
Starting yet another war.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. My thing is the only way an ending, where they overthrow them would work is if they basically kill them. Because exiling them or bubbling them doesn't stop them from coming back some day, and taking over again. Which as you said goes against the show's themes, so I don't think they'll do that.
And it's questionable whether poofing a Diamond is possible in the first place.
The only other type of ending I can see them doing is one similar to the film Enemy Mine, but I can't see them making that work either. Unlike the Dracs the Diamonds don't have any reason like traditions, or family to sympathize with Steven. Even if he is half gem. Actually, exactly because of that. He'd be an abomination in their eyes.

What's stopping a gem who sympathizes with them from busting them out and taking over the universe again? There's no shortage of gems who would.
Heck they created a whole society. They could do it again. They might not even need to leave their new planet.

I highly doubt the Crewniverse would do that. Yellow Diamond is being built up as the ultimate evil here, so her being reformed or something just makes no sense.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
