The pity party was a bit of a push and the hug it out solution is a bit corny - but I admit that I felt that when Pearl and Amethyst were trying to get thru to him + Connie.
But I am glad that's not how it's ending at least.
Currently playing/Watching: Urusei Yatsura, Pokemon Violet, Sonic FrontiersI'm so glad this show's finale was actually satisfying and conclusive... Like so many other shows fucked up at this part, but this show actually did end almost perfectly...
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglThe ending certainly gave me a lot of feelings, though like most of future - it leaves me a little mixed.
I guess in an ideal world with more budget and less beholden to a 10 min slot per - it would of been nice to see everyone get to one-on-one with the steven locked within the diamond monster.
That and while I understand stress was triggering his diamond powers, its technically part of his shared parentage - would it really be that easy to close that pandora's box? But I understand that there's not really time to show any of that at this point. Just putting that thought out there.
Won't lie that I was starting to blub like steven in the epilogue tho. Glad everyone's giving him space to grow.
Currently playing/Watching: Urusei Yatsura, Pokemon Violet, Sonic FrontiersGah. I wanted to say the ending better not go all "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story", but the end already came, didn't it?
Gaaaaah. I. WILL. NEVER. BE. READY. FOR. THIS. SHOW. TO END!

Indeed it was so low-key that it was basically a Dénouement, and as such the logical conclusion of the series.
(Though I wouldn't mind a Non-Linear Sequel of sorts)

So...what saves the day is a group hug and a massive cryfest with the Gems and Greg telling how much they love him?
...
Man, I love this show. I cried. I cheered. I swear there was, isn't, and never will be another show like Steven Universe.
Goodbye Steven. You changed my life.
Edit: But I still want that Lars of the Stars spinoff, though.

Also, note that when Volleyball shows up in Peridot's horticulture class, she's always holding flowers in front of her eye.
they're gonna find intelligent life up there on the moon/and the canterbury tales will shoot up to the top of the best-seller list

Connie put a stop to it.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.
