Is it just world-building for its own sake, or something that will come up again later?
Given that the thing in the new movie looks like an Injector, I wouldn't be surprised if it does come up there.
Was going back through the Toonami trailer to grab some icons, and I noticed at 1:27 that in addition to a smaller star and a black stripe, Garnet's gauntlets now have rings on the fingers matching where her wedding rings are. I can't - the details in this show are just incredible.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Rewatch, Day 45 - Final
- The sunbeam changed position between Escapism and the first scene after Steven's dream. We're left to assume Homeworld has a sun and rotates, even if it's not shown directly, but we've not seen it (clearly) at night.
- This it the first time we see Blue using her powers to make other people cry when she isn't crying. Most likely she can only make them sad.
- It's funny how Pink Diamond's ship is consistently called "your legs".
- I'd have to be very hungry to get that excited◊ for protein bars, bagged chips, juice, and fruit◊.
- As far as Homeworld extras, we only run into those two Topazes guarding a door. Did White Diamond order the others away or something?
- The lightening started to poof Blue Diamond, but didn't quite.◊ I imagine the destabilizers would technically have an effect, but run out of power long before doing anything significant.
- I don't why I love this shot of Yellow Diamond staring at her hands◊ so much.
- What was the armless mecha going to do to Blue, Yellow, Connie, and Steven—smash its face into them? Bite their legs off?
- The only significant collateral damage came from the arm ships punching White into a bunch of buildings◊.
- It's never explained why Lion didn't come.
- I guess Bismuth wears her armor regularly. She'd be practically the only gem that does.
- In hindsight, it's odd that Yellow and Blue wrote off their ships as totaled, then Bismuth and Peridot fix them in a few days.
- Connie's advise: heartwarming, but counterproductive.
- "Take a knee" Steven was able to control the leg ship even from the outside, but doesn't try to again.
- Amethyst finally remembers to transform to fly during a fall.
- Garnet and Steven fusing has a really cool flame visual◊.
- One wonders what White's exact plan was with the mecha. Just kill everyone, even Steven? What if they ran into a building?
- Steven clearly knew who Obsidian was. Add that to the short list of things Steven kept secret from the audience.
- I want to thank whatever storyboard artist/animator put in Connie falling over from Obsidian's jump shaking the ground.
- Odd that Bismuth didn't give Connie a sheathe for her new sword.
- Peridot used her metal powers to save Bismuth from a fall, but would an impact even at terminal velocity hurt her?
- The arm ships were pretty badly (further) damaged◊, considering they're fixed again later.
- While the mech slammed its face into the building, Connie was offscreen so it's less noticeable that she kept hanging onto the thing.
- POV Break: We see Connie still hanging after Steven goes into the eye (mostly to show the tower falling onto the head didn't knock her off either)
- The head ship's pupil are holes.◊ It lets White shoot her bleach beams out of the ship, but I'd guess she'd close the eyelids while in space to keep the talking air in.
- White didn't defuse Garnet after bleaching her. Becoming part of White Diamond presumably overrides any taboo against fusion, just like how her Pearl can give Blue and Yellow orders.
- Pearl's head spun like a top after White Diamond took her over, but it's likely she could have rotated like that anyway—not like she has bones to break.
- White ended up disarming Connie, but tried to stab her on sight, so she clearly wanted her dead or alive.
- I love when the soundtrack goes crazy as White starts to make Steven think he is Pink Diamond.
- White has some crazy dexterity◊ with those nails.
- The time Steven's gem spends separated is my favorite scene in the entire series.
- The initial angle◊ clearly shows how the background of White's room is a gradient going from static at the top to blended-together gray at the bottom.
- You're looking at now, Steven!◊ That shot is still fucking incredible
- Steven is kinda heavy.◊
- If Pink Steven met Onion, I figured it would go something like this.
- Pink Steven still bounces◊ when White Diamond hits the floor.
- "I am a child. What's your excuse?" Alternate take.
- "Listen up, you nail head!" Sounds like Bismuth suddenly started talking about carpentry, but she's actually getting really obscure with the geological references.
- "I'm supposed to know better! I'm supposed to be better! I'm supposed to make everything better!" We will ever know the origins of White Diamond's ambitions, or shall it remain a deliberate mystery?
- Some Homeworld gems finally came in◊, though it's not clear why.
- At first I assumed everyone went back to Earth within a day, but the arm ships were completely repaired, which makes me think it was longer. On the other hand, Steven and Connie seemed like they ran out of food.
- Sweaty Sadie sings ska.◊
- We still don't know if Sadie's green hair became a regular thing or just for the show.
- Lion can look up◊ because he's not a dog.
- I'm seeing triple◊: NINE CONNIES (Presumably the one near Priyanka was supposed to be Doug.) Also, who in the bloody hell is that in front of Barb—did they accidentally put in Onion's design after the time skip? I think I see Lars' dad twice as well.
- That's a lovely feet-in-line closeup◊.
- One less voice: Rutile and Fluorite are silent as the Off Colors arrive.
- "I know what you're thinking, but they're here to help! Off Colors, meet the Diamonds. Diamonds, meet the Off Colors!" Amusingly, that statement could be seen as directed to either side.
- "Hey, Lars, remember Lion?" Most likely as "that animal that hangs around in the dumpster◊". Now it's rubbing all over.
- Lion really likes the Off Colors.◊
- "I think it suits us!"◊
- Audience◊ conversations◊:
- Barb talks with the Rutile Twins, likely pointing at Sadie on stage. Onion might be staring at the Rutile Twins, or just at Barb talking.
- Connie tells her parents what happened. Someone said Doug lacking his jacket here, and when sending his daughter off, shows that Connie shares the same jacket, but an earlier shot showed him still wearing it◊.
- Rhodonite and Garnet catch up, the former probably noticing Garnet's new outfit.
- Padparadscha confuses Peedee.
- Vidalia talks to Fluorite, though she only get the attention from one pair of eyes while the other are looking back at Lion.
- Greg and Pearl also catch up.
- Ronaldo and Lars are the most obvious, and Ronaldo is either openly jealous or finding some issue with Lars' cape.
- I wonder if they had specific dialogue written or mouth flaps made for the montage Steven sings over. Blue Diamond may have said the pool idea, because she uses a bathtub, but I'm curious what Amethyst could have told Jasper so quickly.
- The cured gems seem to know what's going on, and are happy to change back, which is at odd with Nephrite not even knowing any time passed while she was corrupted.
- The legs take quite a lot of parking space.◊ I wouldn't be surprised if Steven leaves them on Homeworld in the movie, or at least in some more obscure corner of the Earth.
- Lapis Lazuli: party napper◊.
- As you might expect for a quadruple-length episode, this had the longest cast list: 4 feature voices, 15 additional voices (three more than "Letters to Lars"), and it's the only time they needed multiple pages.
I find Padparadscha talking to Peedee to be really charming for some reason.
I just imagined Lion was napping while they repaired the armships, and woke up just as they left
"Aw crap, they've gone without me!Wait,I can warp there! No,wait, that's only the moon.*Yawn* I'll take another nap"

Has the warp system been repaired between "Change Your Mind" and the movie? One might assume so, but if that's the case, then what's keeping Steven and the others from calling Homeworld for help during said movie? If the warp pads haven't been fixed, I can see a conversation going something like: "Yellow Diamond! Earth's going to be destroyed!" "Okay Pink. We'll have a ship there in a couple days." "But the Earth will be destroyed in 24 hours!" "Sorry, two days is the best I can do."
> but if that's the case, then what's keeping Steven and the others from calling Homeworld for help during said movie?
I've not seen the film but hazzard a guess and say if their empire is being dismantled they may not be in a position to help,or they were taken out off screen or something

Satisfactory.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. When is this airing again? In America I mean. Up here in Canada it airs on Saturday, because for some reason Canadian Cartoon Network can't air new episodes on the same day as American Cartoon Network. Also, how long is this? Because according to the TV guide when it airs on Saturday it'll be 2 hours long, and I'm not sure if that's with or without commercials.
Here, it airs at 6:00 PM EST. It's 90 minutes long without commercials.
Oh by the way, we finally know what's airing after the movie: it's the shorts from seasons 2 and 4, bunched into one big block. Depending on how the movie ends, that's going to be quite the whiplash.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢tonight at 6 eastern and pacific, 7 mountain, and 5 central. no idea what's up with the staggered timezones.
Migrated to Chloe Jessica! What time zone would north texas be in?
CN has two feeds, Eastern and Pacific. Each will show it at 6pm in those timezones. Central gets the east coast feed, so 5pm. Mountain gets the west coast feed, so 7pm*. *Most of Arizona does not do daylight saving time, so it's on the same time as Pacific, 6pm.
Also note that if you use a DVR and have a scheduled recording for the series, it may not pick up the movie. You have to schedule it specifically.
