I doubt they did, the movie production is finished and they've been hyping it up the past several months.
Cancel the screening, not the whole movie.

[up]This all started when Sugar stated that Lapis and Bismuth didn't recognize each other and that Lapis wouldn't care very much at this point.

Rewatch, Day 33

    The Zoo
  • This episode did the in-show title card before "The Trial" and "Off Colors" did.
  • In the Zoo, the moon really is just the sun at night. Is that a real sun they're orbiting and obscure at night, or just part of the wall?
  • "Steven, these people are the descendants of humans brought here by Gems thousands of years ago." Did Greg already know about the Zoo beforehand?
  • "Ste-van, Ga-reg has told stories of you. 'The bits, the bits!' That's you, right?" "The bits, the bits, the bits!" Say the line, Steven!
  • "Ste-van, today the fruit is purple." They have words for different kinds of food.
  • The little voice asks questions, but doesn't respond to the answers. Is it an AI or is a gem operating it?
  • How long was Steven in the containment area? They had a meal, a bathing period, night fell, and the Choosening passed, but Holly still hadn't made her way to Blue Diamond's chamber.
  • It's impressive how small of a splash the Zoomans manage.
  • "I can't believe this. They're all so happy." "They love it here. I mean, look at this place. Can you blame them? They've got everything they need, and they never have to worry about a thing." It's obvious between Steven and Greg which one has had to eat out of the garbage.
  • "There is a story of an opening wall. A very long time ago, a Gem came through a wall hole to help someone who was hurt." The Zoomans do know what gems are, broadly. They also seem to have some sort of oral history.
  • Zoomans don't know what "bad" means. The little voice never told them things not to do?
  • Punching Greg was a terrible idea that Steven got into really quickly.
  • That punch was one of the two times a completely human character brushes off a ridiculous injury. Lars was barely hit any harder when he instantly died.
  • I wonder if the Choosening accounts for sexual orientation. If not, there are certainly going to be some couples who never have sex, but don't see any problem with that. If so, even though it's clearly a breeding program first, they might have gay and asexual Zoomans couple up anyway for morale.
  • "Ga-reg" isn't just the Zoomans' pronunciation, the tiny voice uses it too. What, did the machine ask him at some point? Does it just repeat whatever name the other Zoomans use most?
  • Many Zoomans have brightly colored eyes (including Wy-Six and Jay-Ten), but the vast majority of other humans don't (it's basically just Sour Cream and a few others that are much less noticeable and consistent).
  • One of the Amethysts carries a pair of Zoomans off, but I have to wonder to where—the others are just talking to them where they are.
  • The "Zooman walla" (i.e. crowd sound) included all the voice actors in the episode, but not Estelle or Magno-Hall, even though they have credits. So apparently, despite being credited every episode, actually including them at all would either cost more or count against a voice actor limit.
  • Why does the door only open from outside the enclosure? Humans can't open the door anyway, so that just means the guards have to leave it open or risk getting closed in.

    That Will Be All
  • Skinny has a nice, benign remix of Jasper's ratcheting theme.
  • "Get out of your cubbies and into your places!" It's easy to miss, but the Amethyst really do have cubby holes to stand in while... well, I don't know when they would need to.
  • "I'll find you." Why did Amethyst separate herself from Greg and Steven?
  • "Who bubbled all these gems?" We still don't know if it was Pink Diamond or just some pink gem.
  • Blue Pearl gets an annoyed little grimace at Yellow Pearl's presence. They seem to get along better in the Diamond Days arc.
  • While in the bubbled Rose Quartz room, Steven finds a door he can't open. An implication there's something important there (like a control room) or just prolonging the escape sequence?
  • The bubbles move around according to Yellow Diamond's arm movements. Telekinesis or just something bubbles do?
  • When Pearl opens the door to the room, she immediately gets out of sight even as Holly Blue, Sapphire, and Ruby step forward. She was probably the other Pearls would recognize her.
  • "My... future vision foresaw you, my Diamond." It's called "future vision" even to Homeworld.
  • "The window for preserving Earth specimens is closing." "There's still time." Is that the biggest red flag everyone just ignored?
  • If Amethyst shapeshifted to a larger form for more than a few seconds, she wouldn't have to hide from Holly Blue.

    The New Crystal Gems
  • "Lion behaved himself." He was never in sight all episode; who's to say he wasn't messing stuff up elsewhere?
  • Here, Connie does keep Rose's Sword in her house.
  • "I can be there in 15! Or actually, maybe 20-25 because I might have to take the bus—" Connie can get to Steven's house even by herself. That's also the first concrete detail as to how far away the Maheswaran home is.
  • Between the delivery of "I almost drown a lot of people." and Lapis' body language, I still can't tell if she's dismissive or ashamed.
  • I question Connie wearing Steven's clothes without his permission.
  • Sadie sits strangely.
  • The Ronaldo also gazes into you. (Did he even know who Connie was at this point, or why she'd be dressed like Steven?)
  • The Crystal Temps get their own warped version of the theme tune.
  • Why was Connie in Steven's bed? Didn't this whole thing take place over one day?
  • "Witness the Garnet!" That probably confused some of the humans, considering they'd likely never heard of Peridot and some may not remember Garnet's name either.
  • Did Peridot fix Yellowtail's car?
  • I still think Peridot's impersonation plan lasted too long, and it'd be better if they succeeded on their own terms on-screen.
  • Peridot lifted half the sign by hand. Did she build up some (metaphorical) muscle or was she using her metal power anyway?

    Storm in the Room
  • Connie should have been able to tell from the call that her mom's phone was off, not just going unanswered. And you'd think she could at least call the front office of the hospital to ask if she was in.
  • I like how the show gets all this tension from just randomly worrying if your mom got in a car crash.
  • I like it when these scenes of Steven (practically) alone leave it silent instead of coming up with some reason for him to talk to himself. (But then he's really talking to himself for the rest of the episode, so what do I know?)
  • Lonely Blade is Callison instead of Jai Alex again.
  • The room not showing up in photo is so bizarre. Apparently it was easier to project the same illusion directly into everyone's minds than to just make them out of light like everything else the gems make.
  • "You're a part of me now. I have to deal with what you left behind." The wrongest epiphany.
  • Amethyst just Sonics her way in the house for no reason.

It looks like the movie will have 15 songs in total
The article says 17 songs, or are you discounting variations?

I'm not looking at the listing because soundtracks are infamous for giving away stuff with their titles. Although this is an official source, and thus fair for this thread instead of the spoiler one, I would appreciate if people tread lightly if they're going to talk about it here.

Anyway, the really nice part is finally getting an official release for ambient music! 21 instrumental soundtracks are included with the full version. (A deluxe version will even include eight demo reels.)

Background music!! Finally! Now give us the rest of them

I didn't look too heavily into the track list (for the same reason as other1), but this one did catch my eye:

31. The Missing Piece
This song has the same name as the solo credits theme for "The Return". I wonder if it's the same song.

Rewatch, Day 34

    Rocknaldo
  • Steven has strutted with his fingers out a lot since about season three.
  • "Crystal Gems aren't Rock People. Crystal Gems fight Rock People. See my documentary Rising Tides, Crashing Skies." Did Ronaldo think corrupted gems were "rock people"?
  • "I'm so glad you're the only one that took a Ronalphlet!" Deep down, he knows Steven is the only ones listening.
  • Ronaldo has a different shirt he wears just when staying at Steven's house.
  • "You don't have a gem." I have to wonder at what point did Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl consider Connie a member of the Crystal Gems, not just an ally.
  • "But Steven gets to go." "Steven is different. He's been training with us for years." Though that training mostly came after the missions started (Connie did have to train first, though).
  • Steven listens to a sleep-aid recording. He may or may not have been doing it before Ronaldo came in.
  • "Look at that quality groove I've established!" Groove me, baby. (That's arguably the only joke the show's made about someone being fat.)
  • I wish I could remember things I heard five seconds before I passed out.
  • Amethyst Ronaldo has her own shirt pattern.
  • The jumping continues.
  • "Are you all right? I haven't seen you in three weeks." Kind of odd that two people who live that close could avoid each other for so long. (Also ironic that three weeks pass in this episode, while the previous six were set on the same day.)
  • I still adore how Ronaldo has access to stock art from Cartoon Network's website.

    Tiger Philanthropist
  • Purple Puma's outfit matched Amethyst's at first, but never changed with it.
  • There is some bizarre monstrosity emblazoned on the tag team belt. Is that what's on Lars' shirt?
  • Did Amethyst and Steven ever consider wrestling each other? Or would that cause too much damage?
  • Smug Sadie
  • Tiger goes face, then immediately sucker punches his first opponent.
  • I still wonder if the Seawasp is Onion's cousin or something.
  • Smiley looking up seawasps during his intro is a pretty Abrams joke.
  • "Billy Bank Assets just got a taste of The Philanthropist business loan elbow!" "Oh! He hit 'em with a charitable Take-Donation!" Tiger just announced his new gimmick minutes ago. Is Smiley making up these names himself, on the spot?
  • "Star-Crossed Lovers?" Never considered that the Good-Looking Gang might be a couple.

    Room for Ruby
  • "Is that star... screaming?" Impressive he can hear that, considering she'd almost certainly be going supersonic.
  • It is so bizarre that Garnet is getting the Rubies confused.
  • A very Lapis-y way to cut someone out of a conversation. (At least she has the consideration not to submerge someone who needs to breathe.)
  • "Why would she wanna live here? We've been awful to her. She must hate us." Lapis logic: "We treated someone terribly, so we better keep doing it."
  • "Even if she wants to be here, she doesn't know what she's getting into. Life on Earth is really confusing." The alternative is, what, exactly?
  • Peridot and/or Lapis drew a three-striped flag with a star. Presumably it's for the Crystal Gems, though it's one of the few times their symbol is drawn with lines inside it.
  • Peridot also drew herself as an LGM with her gem.
  • "Ah, yes! The sun. Ever burning. Until it's not." "Oh, a planet that's not always sunny." So what, does Homeworld have a sun or not?
  • "This planet has weather, which can be confusing and alarming." I get that Homeworld has almost no water, but how can it have an atmosphere without any weather?
  • Peridot's hair is suddenly a lot more absorbent.
  • "Wow! Sounds groovy!" Navy knows some oddly specific slang.
  • It is amazing Navy could even learn to fake sleeping that quickly. But apparently, gems don't need any extra organs to sleep, they just need to... lay down and close their eyes.
  • "What's dirt?" I'm realizing Homeworld wouldn't have "dirt" (i.e. soil). Which would mean Peridot isn't calling people "clods (or dirt)", but I guess "clods (of miscellaneous sediment).
  • "No, no. It's my problem. I didn't mean to make you feel like you don't belong here." Lapis learned a lesson, but did she discard it when she turned out to be "right" the first time?
  • And so Navy joins Marty, Eyeball, Holly Blue Agate, and Aquamarine in the list of "characters it'd be nice to see again, but the heroes wouldn't want to see and are unlikely to run into". (At least Kevin lives in the same state.)
  • "Still worth a shot." Garnet, forgetting they just needed that ship.

    Lion 4: Alternate Ending
  • "Maybe I'm supposed to go back to Asia?"; countries and continents seem to have the same names.
  • One-episode power: Lion storing things in his throat.
  • The way Rose's things go around doesn't really make much sense. Why was the "For Steven" tape in Lion's mane and why did Lion eat the key?
  • Lion made Steven endure hours in a blazing desert. Giving Steven time to think or payback for annoying Lion into the trip?
  • Jesus, Steven is leaking like a sieve.
  • What the hell are the crystal lizards? They leave behind a corpse when Lion eats one, so they can't be corrupted gems or even their spawn. Did the gems somehow bring non-gem lifeforms with crystals in them to Earth, or mutate native life to be that way?
  • "Oh, my gosh. I never thought I'd see this again." Greg didn't know Steven found Rose's tape. Did anyone but Steven and Sadie know about that?
  • "Because you're going to become something extraordinary. You're going to be a human being. That's my favorite part. A human being. A human is an action. I wonder who, how you'll be, what you'll think, what you'll want. Oh, I'm so happy for everyone who's going to know you... I'm rambling. If they look to you, trust yourself. Take care of them, Nora." I completely forgot Rose had more words she left out of the other tape. She really should have re-recorded the other one to add them to the speech, though Steven could have still missed the point even if she said she was just "rambling".

[up][up][up]I loved how the explanation for the Nora tape was such a mundane and obvious one — Rose and Greg simply didn't know whether their kid would be a boy or a girl and came up with names and tapes for both just in case.

It also highlights how Rose never really had any big plans or schemes, for better or worse.
