Definitely sounds like something he'd do. Could make for some good Character Development when he attempts to be a space pirate and fails miserably because he has no idea what that actually entails.
I think a lot of people thought that at some point.
An Alternate Universe where Peedee did become one of Steven's closest friends and ended up being involved in Gem stuff just as much as Connie is would make for a very interesting fanfic, I think.
If they end up doing more Steven/human Fusions, I'd love an episode where Steven and Peedee Fuse and the resulting Fusion realizes "Oh wait, I can drive!", taking Peedee's food truck out only to get chased by the cops after Mr. Fryman mistakenly believed someone stole his kid's business and called the police.
Well, Connie didn't get involved with the Crystal Gems because she was closest to Steven—it was more the other way around.
Now that hostilities with Homeworld are over, I wonder if Lars will ever go out to be a "pirate" again or hang up his cape for good (whether or not they keep using the Sun Incinerator).

This flower (which is like that because it's a chimera, not heat) instantly made me think of Rose. And Cookie Cats.
In "Space Race", Steven's eyes turned diamond-shaped (like Connie's) instead of star-shaped. Don't think that happened at any other point.

Just as a minor thought, I kinda wonder if the revival process Lion and Lars went through causes minor changes in how you sense things. I know that, in terms of sense of taste, way milder shocks to the system than death-and-magical-resurrection can cause people to perceive things to taste much different. It'd be interesting if that happened to Lars and it was part of his "readjustment to Earth" process.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Lars: "Wow, donuts taste completely different now."
Sadie: "Are they still good?"
Lars: "Yeah, still good, just completely different."
> Being a diamond helped Rose conceive Steven, but a regular gem could potentially do the same—it would just be very hard.
Going to back to this but I was thinking about the difficulty of introducing another hybrid from a writing prospective, how do you write in another hybrid without it being contrived?
New theme music also a boxHave it be from another species?
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Logically, any human hybrid before Steven would have been corrupted and/or died (of old age even). Which could be kind of an interesting angle to explore, but asking a lot .
The same factors that make it more likely there's another gem/organic hybrid somewhere (space is big, and gems live in a lot of it) make it unlikely Steven will meet any of them.
A really old hybrid would still only die if they chose too IIRC.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Worth remembering that Steven isn't just a Gem Human hybrid. He's a Diamond Human hybrid. He's one of the most powerful Gems in existence. It's not certain whether a Gem Human hybrid with a different and less powerful Gem type would have the same properties he does.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI mean all Gems are immortal. His immortality isn't a Diamond specific ability.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Gems aren't immortal. They're ageless. There's a difference.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Being corrupted could also leave them too insane to care for themselves (or kill them outright).
"Immortal" is an imprecise term, hence the name for the trope Complete Immortality
Which gems get damn close to anyway consider how hard they are to kill.

Steven's not lonely since he's always been around other gems. Adding another hybrid wouldn't add much to the story. At least I can't think of an angle they could use that's not a rehash. I don't think there's much room for a character like that to be an antagonist either, so they'd kind of just exist, and not much else.
A part of the series has been about Steven feeling like he doesn't belong with humans or Gems though?

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Not really? Connie and Lars made him feel weird about it a couple times, but the show makes that their problem not his. After telling them off, and Connie's parents just ... kinda accepting it easily, any potential for prejudice or being excluded because of who he is is quickly brushed aside for the most part.
And with the gems it's not really about him not "belonging", but him feeling inadequate about living up to his Mom.

The one where he tries to change age for Connie is like that. I think it's the only times his issues about not feeling human is the main plot.
He also sometimes says stuff along those lines when he's casually mentioning he has issues.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Even then with the Pink Steven scene Steven's well past that at this point. The Beach Citizens love him, his connection with the Crystal Gems is the strongest it's ever been, and he has all the Uncorrupted Gems to keep him company now. Feeling alone at this point would seem silly.

I dunno. There's a lot of drama to be had in feeling alone even when in a metaphorical crowded room, and Steven's a good character for it. I think he's implied before that the recent revelations in his life have made him question where, if anywhere, he fits in.
Though that should change, what with the season finale making him a lot more confident about who he is.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I wasn't talking about Steven now, I was talking about earlier in the show.
And, uh...
This immediately reminded me of this line from Lars back in Season 1:
it's not just that though. He seems to pretty much have dealt with his issues about who he is with the Pink Steven scene. That arc feels complete.
...I just said I wasn't talking about Steven as of Change Your Mind.
He's gone past it now, but that doesn't change that he did at one point feel that way.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I missed that. I'm not sure where you're trying to take the conversation then, because we're talking about how another gem hybrid would fit with his story.
Also I just realized Lars kind of fills this role already. Steven's going to have to be responsible for helping Lars deal with being magic and unusual because he's the only other person who can really relate with him.

Can someone please give me a recap on Lars's character evolution since season 1 to now?
In an anime, I'll be the Tsundere Dark Magical Girl who likes purple MY own profile is actually HERE!
Does Power Floats really count in that context?
To me it seems more like Pink Steven is just applying Stevens normal power in a much more focused/directed manner.
I suppose it doesn't matter overmuch, it's very similar to that trope after all.
