Interesting thought I had,we only saw Blue's sapphires,whose to say Yellow's and Pink's sapphires saw disaster coming (not Stevonnie,something else) and stayed away?

I don't think Bismuth is small enough to get out of Lars' head unless some shapeshifting is involved.

It once took Pearl over two weeks to reform.

Lars probably knows where Homeworld is by now,so no trouble in finding his general location,difficulty is getting into Homeworld without being shot

”Finding Steven” probably meant knowing that he’s in trouble in the first place. The Sun Incinerator’s most likely still in deep space.

Yellow does indeed have pupils in the scene where she's charging at Blue, but they're super duper tiny. You can also see a small bubbled Steven and Connie bursting out with them.

I'm gonna be the guy who says the obvious thing, but I expect 'Heart' and 'Mind' refer to the emotional Blue and cerebral Yellow, respectively.

Well their Gems are on their chest (heart) and White's is on her head (mind) so it could mean that too

Steven meanwhile, often goes with his gut.

I'm going to guess that Lars and the Off-colours arrive on earth, only for Bismuth and the rest to tell them they've got to turn around and go to Homeworld. The problem with that is Lars and co. had such a hard time finding Earth that I'm not sure how easily they can navigate space. However, if Peridot has reformed by this point I could see her acting as navigator and getting them back to Homeworld really fast.

Couldn’t they just go through Lion’s mane to get to Lars? Assuming they know how, of course.

Melon Steven could go through Lion's mane to reach Lars while bringing along Bismuth

Melon Steven doesn't have Steven's/Rose's/Pink Diamond's Gem, so I'm going to guess that wouldn't work.

The reason I feel we'll see them arrive because of Lars is, that's one of the few plot threads left not tied up. At least, it's the only one I can think of that otherwise that has nothing to do with Steven and the Gems being on Homeworld. And a while ago the crew basically said that this was originally planned as the grand finale, so I think after the next episode we're going to see basically every plot thread tied up.

Wasn't there talk of a Steven Universe movie at one point? Or am I thinking of something else?

The problem wasn’t finding Earth, it was repairing their engine after Emerald’s attack.

Navigation has never been a problem. Pearl set a course to the Zoo despite the 5000 year tech gap. And the Sun Incinerator probably has a navigation system that can point straight to Homeworld.

Sugar said something to that effect, but like 2-3 years ago. We don’t know how far into development they were on season five when the movie and season six were greenlit. It may have been early enough to rewrite things so the Off Colors making it to Earth, among other details, happens later.

If this was meant to be the grand finale originally, I wonder just how many plot threads will be tied up? Obviously curing the corrupted gems will not be one of them. I just wonder if any new, completely unexpected threads will be introduced - what could be more off the walls than the Pink Diamond reveal? The origin of White Diamond?

Most off the walls crazy reveal I can think of is another Gem hybrid showing up,since the trope about being the only one of their kind is rarely remains as they up the stakes,see superman being the only survivor of his planet,and then they introduce Zod and later Supergirl

Did you mean that's one that will be tied up later?

I wouldn't mind if the season ended with the fighting over and the corrupted gems (set up to be) cured, leaving the enormous consequences thereof to the next season and/or a subplot in the movie.

If the show truly ended HERE withOUT curing the corrupted Gems, I'd be FUCKING PISSED.
