Is that Blue and Yellow fighting each other? So it seems Blue is helping Steven and Connie escape

Not sure how you got that. The promo seemed to be about them trying to escape all the Diamonds.

The preview does show Blue attacking Steven but i bet he will be able to talk no jutsu her down. Yellow is probably not going to listen

Later in the preview you do see both falling down from a building, with Yellow having an angry look towards Blue. It gives me the impression that the two are fighting each other so my guess is that Blue is buying both Steven and Connie time (Before White steps in of course)

I'd assume it's more likely they did something to push Yellow on to Blue or they're both just getting blown out the building, than that. Otherwise it doesn't fit with the vibe of the promo.

Could be he's reflecting blue power back yellow and Yellow's back at blue's with the goal of them hitting White's head in the crossfire

It's also possible that Yellow tried to protect Blue from something, though they might a bit too far from each other for that to be the case.

I think either is possible with that "falling through the wall" part.

I'm surprised Steven and Connie would even start a fight with the Diamonds when it's just the two of them. Wonder when Steven got a change of clothes.

Looking closer, Yellow does seem to be staring and Blue and looking really pissed.

And I noticed Steven's hauling the other Crystal Gems' stones in scenes in his normal clothes. Connie also changed clothes along with Steven, back into the jeans and jacket she wore when they landed (probably didn't want to have to run or fight in a skirt). I'm betting Steven's "We've got friends to save." and the dramatic shirt wearing are part of a Lock-and-Load Montage.

@LSBK: The show has had misleading promos before; as said before, it could easily be that Steven hits some nerves in the process of talking down Blue, leading to her lashing out at him; the color scheme suggests her reverse-empath power was activated.

That said, based on the shot of the White Diamond/Pink Diamond ship mecha facing down Blue and Yellow Diamond, there's somebody human sized standing between them, possibly Stevonnie but it's hard to tell. My thought is that Steven gets one of the Diamonds on his side*, at least to the extent they're going to help him escape homeworld, then the other one catches them, they fight, then White Diamond steps.

* Probably Blue, while the show likes to subvert expectations and Yellow isn't heartless, Blue has consistently been treated more sympathetically, even in Diamond Days to the extent that she was at least trying to be more accommodating towards "Pink", whereas Yellow is more or less just trying to pretend things are back to business as usual.

Also, White Diamond really sounds like GlaDOS.

Also, regarding the last episode, I love how they made Yellow Diamond's giraffe neck meme into an Ascended Meme via her going full on lesser dog in the dream sequence =P.

I actually think most of that "figure" is a white tree-like object in the background, while Steven and Connie are barely visible specks beneath and to either side of it.

I'd guess Blue's fight with Steven and Connie leads to something besides escaping, just from how the latter reach the bubbled gems and their clothes later.

The biggest chance of Yellow changing sides look like a Hazy-Feel Turn out her resentment for White's Parental Favoritism, even if deliberately exploiting those kind of feelings would be very un-Steven-y.

Agreed. I never thought her pencil neck when she first appeared was a big deal, but a lot of that fanart was really funny anyway.

I'm really wondering what Connie's going to bring to this, besides fighting (gonna be hard without a weapon) and forming Stevonnie. Given the finale's title, I hope she makes some intellectual contribution Steven's can't/won't do, even if she isn't directly in Steven and White's psychic argument battle.

On that note, the promo could well be mostly stuff from the first half or even quarter: It totally avoids showing who Steven talked to and Connie's new sword.

I noticed on the Betting Pool for "who will be poofed", the first seven are confirmed, and Yellow Diamond caused all of them. If that doesn't warrant a soundclip from Unreal Tournament, I don't know what does.

With the streak Yellow's been on, I'm thinking that she'll accidentally poof herself when her lighting gets reflected back at her, either by Steven's shield or by something else.

It's not that surprising. Yellow Diamond's power is pretty much an insta-poof against any Gem. It's a projectile and far more powerful version of Gem Destabilizers.

I think Yellow is immune to her own lightning strikes,same with Blue's powers though Steven could probably keep reflecting her power back so she keeps building up a charge until she tries to use her powers and gets overcharged

So, the popular theory on Reddit is that Yellow is being controlled by White into fighting Blue, on account of it seeming like Yellow's eyes are whited out in the scene where she and Blue burst through the wall.

At this point it REALLY would surprise me if White didn't have some kind of mental powers, seeing as how the other diamonds have similar abilities to effect gems

I'm leaning more towards White Diamond's powers being a case of All Your Powers Combined rather than "merely" having mind related powers. That she has the same powers as the other three Diamonds but ramped Up To Eleven.

Not sure if her eyes are all white or just have Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises. The latter seems a bit out of character for Yellow even when she's mad, so some kind of mental effect seems more likely even if they look a bit too emotional for Mind-Control Eyes.

Would that really be so impressive, though? Yellow's lighting and Blue's lasers are as strong as they have any use for, Blue's emotion power would do little because White Diamond's usual emotion is passive-aggressive, and Pink's powers wouldn't be much use either.

I'm leaning toward White Diamond having mind manipulation powers too, given the implications of whatever she did to the first Pink Pearl to turn her into White Pearl.
