I think the crew might've spoiled Garnet getting a new outfit?? The Crewniverse blog posted the process for the promo picture, and the second sketch and line art both show Garnet with a different top (her gauntlet is also a little different, even in the final). Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยข
Ah, how I missed the "innocuous" episode descriptions.

Wait, is the December 17th episode just "Legs from here to Homeworld"?
Yep.
Geek Girl Authority reports that "Battle of Heart and Mind" will be an hour-long special!
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขBattle of Heart and Mind in all likelyhood is referring to Steven being the Heart and the Mind is White Diamond
New theme music also a boxDidn't someone on the crew say that the original plan for Steven Universe meant for its endgame to happen about now? If so, that means that upcoming hour special might be the point where things were planned out to at the start of production and everything after that point was created after the show became popular. Maybe.
I think you're referring to that interview from ages ago where Rebecca said, "Endgame or not, I'm shooting for the moon. I'm going to write us into a serious corner" (second sentence paraphrased) in regards to Season 5.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยขAny chance Sugar meant that literally and they're going to shoot for the moon in order to blow it up?
Matt Burnett mentioned these are the last episodes he worked on, which indicates this is finally the end of season five.
29-32 quarter-hours over 602 days.
Steven gets grounded for a thousand years again and has to spend it standing in the corner.
White Diamond is definitely getting a song. Blue and Yellow already got their duet, so I expect a proper solo Villain Song for White.
It's been fun.Blue Diamond hasn't sung yet. Yellow Diamond sung to her with Blue and Yellow Pearl as backup.
But yeah, it does seem we are getting into the climax.
After fourteen months, we'll finally hear "Escapism" in the actual show... in another two months. Steven being the singer has looked likely since we saw "Legs From Here to Homeworld", and his outfit in the poster makes that almost guaranteed.
Connie's got a new, much more appropriately-sized sword with a gold star in the hilt. Now does this mean she meets back up with Bismuth somehow, secretly already had one before she left (it would fit in her bag), or somehow gets a new one on Homeworld?
Lion warps to Homeworld and Connie pulls the sword of his mane or something
Or Steven summons the sword and gives it to Connie

New theme music also a boxI realized recently that the storyline of Homeworld thinking Steven is Rose/Pink Diamond, besides being about a child navigating his parent's legacy, is pretty strongly analogous to gender identity.
That Steven is apparently gonna have to dress like Pink Diamond makes it kind of more obvious in hindsight.
...Oh damn, I didn't even pick up on that.
It's been fun.Huh, I didn't even see Connie in there at first - I was too distracted by the looks on YD and BD. Of course, Bismuth was there when Rose's sword was shattered, so my guess is that Bis probably got to work pretty much immediately on a new sword for her (among other things, it's something to keep her busy while she waits for Lapis and Peridot to reform).
I have some conjecture about what's about to happen, but I probably should save that for the spoiler thread.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Fair point. And since it's some random guy's musings and not any insider information, I suppose it doesn't need tags.
I think there is going to be a full-on brawl where Blue and Yellow have to hold off hordes of White's elites (I'm not sure yet if this will be "let them really let loose on Steven's side" or if it'll be a Worf Barrage thanks to Redemption Demotion), while the Crystal Gems do their best to defend Steven in the inner sanctum while Steven does his best to reach White Diamond's heart. It wouldn't surprise me if something super dramatic happened, and Steven escapes but it's a Pyrrhic Victory - one particularly dramatic one would be that Steven escapes, but White poofs both Yellow and Blue to set the stage for as high of stakes as the show probably could pull out.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.More podcast stuff:
- Steven is unconscious at the beginning of "Bubbled", which was originally because he'd have a noir-style dream where he investigates Pink Diamond's death. They figured (quite rightly) that it was way too early in that storyline.
- A common trend in the creative process: Ideas that are so weird they seem like jokes, but get developed to the point they actually use them.
- Lars ending up in space while Sadie became a musician is meant to parallel where Rose and Greg were before they met (though this happened in reverse).
- Someone asked if the Zircons would drink coffee if they knew of it. Sugar (rather logically) pointed out caffeine would have no effect on a gem.
- They mention that, while the show's version of Kansas is the center of the entertainment industry, California is different in the opposite way. They called it "Califarmland".
- Homeworld disallows even gems of the same type fusing together unless they're essentially identical. They only want fusions to create gems that fit existing roles, so the components have to be basically clones making a larger version of themselves. Something like the diamonds' pearls fusing together? Still not allowed.
EDIT: Corrected

You mean they want to create fusions the DO fit into existing roles.

That's really neat. Has Sadie and Lar's relationship always been meant to parallel Rose and Greg's but in reverse, or is it just that bit?
