Aquamarine is The Friend Nobody Likes.

Possibly addition to that headcanon, Topaz is an exception, which was why Aquamarine was willing to let her off the hook.

Which makes you wonder what if other Gems worked with her.

I imagine it would go over like a by the book Commissar in a unit of Catachan Jungle Fighters.

For those unfamiliar with Warhammer 40k, this means "taken out by enemy fire in battle" in their sleep, 50 miles away enemy lines.

In general, I kind of wonder just how much friendship even happens on Homeworld. At the very least, it seems frowned-upon, even if nobody tries to stamp it out unless it advances to the point that cross-caste fusions are attempted. I know that it's to some extent due to what the show has focused on, but I don't think we've seen any example of positive relationships (friendly or otherwise) outside of the Off Colors (where Homeworld is very much antagonistic), the Famethyst (where it seems that Homeworld is permissive but dismissive, if Holly Blue Agate is anything to judge by... which, admittedly, she may not be), and Topaz (which seems to be a similar situation as the Famethyst, swapping Holly Blue with Aquamarine).

That said, even assuming that Homeworld does allow friendships between different gem types... yeah, I strongly suspect the Aquamarine we met that kicked off the "Out Of This World" bomb is by-and-large friendless. Maybe one other gem that barely tolerates her, but that's it.

I want to see Topaz and Blue Zircon again. I hope they're okay. I especially want to see Topaz get accepted by Garnet and the Off-Colors, and to see Blue Zircon reacting to the truth about Pink Diamond and talking with Steven. She did a good job of noticing the holes in Rose's story, and I want to see her get some closure on that.

I think what Zircon really wants is assurance she won’t be murdered for what she did find out.

Pink Diamond’s survival was apparently publicized, so it’s probably a moot point, but she did still accuse the Diamonds of Pink’s assassination, and was arguably wrong.

I only vaguely remember what you're talking about.
I'm increasingly thinking the will go past this season and the movie. I honestly do not believe Sugar wants to end the show anytime soon, and the network probably doesn't either given the ratings and press are still decent.

[up] It was like 2017/late 2016 and Krol posted on his Facebook that he was working on something with Rebecca and told SU fans to get excited.

Also, I just realized the second anniversary of "Last One Out of Beach City" was a few days ago. How has it been two years.

I have a friend who's binging the series for the first time. He mentioned Peridot being captured and stuck in the bathroom, then a day or so later he was like 'okay, season 2 finished'. And I was like '...wait, that happened in season 2?!'

It's been fun.

But season one was double-length, so one could think of it like season three of six so far.

Calendar-wise “Catch and Release” came out just before the show’s second anniversary, and now we’re headed to the fifth.

I blame the Stevenbomb schedule for making everything feel disjointed.

Anyway, I'd love to see more from the show after the movie comes out. If they try to end everything with White Diamond in a 90-minute movie, that would be a damn shame.

It's been fun.

I blame the Stevenbomb schedule for making everything feel disjointed.
Well, real time it went like this:
  • Season 1a: 10 months
  • Season 1b: 7 months
  • Season 2: 10 months
  • Season 3: 4 month break before beginning + 3 months
  • Season 4: 9 months
  • Season 5: 16 months and counting

If they try to end everything with White Diamond in a 90-minute movie, that would be a damn shame.
Season five was planned out long before the movie was greenlit. Even if the movie's plot is part of the show's storyline, instead of being self-contained, we're gonna reach some kind of conclusion by this season's end.

Personally, I hope the movie's plot is kind of like "Bismuth": Different from the show's then-current plotline, but it builds off established plot hooks/concepts and is reflected by events later on.

Do we have any idea when it'll be out?
All we know is production began around Summer 2017. It may well be done already, but that doesn't mean we'll see it soon.

We’ve got another new storyboard artist. Etienne Guignard who previously worked on Lastman, Miraculous Ladybug, and Atomic Puppet.

They started this week, so either the staff have been boarding the movie for over ten months or season six has already begun production.

You ever wonder what the Gems would look like in live-action? I like to imagine that, since their bodies are made of light, aside from their gems, they look like CGI. Like, their skin has no texture and would look unnaturally clean and smooth.

[up]I think they're asking what gems literally look like to humans in-series (hence imagining they'd look "like CGI").

Gem anatomy is often more exaggerated or generally different than humans, like Garnet's "action figure" or Pearl's impossible thinness (and how none of them but Rose have breasts). It can make you wonder why people generally assume they're humans (or find them attractive), but that's probably taking things too literally.
