...Steven never did find Lion in "Same Old World", did he? I wonder what's up with that.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...Hmm, true. Still at the moment we don't have any confirmation the he is actually a gem.
Lion seems to have a sense for when Steven really needs him.
When Steven needs him most, Leon just leaves.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Cynical summary of Steven Universe that's still funny. ;p
My favorite gem is Armrest.
Actually it's Steven, but I like her name more.
He wouldn't have noticed Lapis if Lion had been there though. He didn't really need him, then.
The ending of that had me die laughing. It's pretty true.

He needed to get home...not what drives the plot.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I like the idea of Lion being a corrupted gem because it's simple—it explains his weirder powers without introducing some entirely different kind of magical creature. I used to think Lion's most likely origin was a planimal Rose created, but none of the vines or the Watermelon Steven/animals have power anything like Lion's.

The fact that we've seen a gem that might be Bismuth indicates to me that we might be seeing more stuff about Lion this season. There has to be a reason why Rose stored Bismuth's gem in there rather than in the Temple with the others.
And assuming that Bismuth is Rastagem, it would be interesting if she and Lapis met each other again.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...I know.
Hence "Nevermind that male lions rarely ever actually do anything."
I was trying to indicate that I was describing the way lions are perceived and commonly anthropomorphized. Not an actual or accurate description of actual lion behavior or social structure.
Although frankly, "taking the labor of others because no one else is big enough to stop them" is as good a definition of what a king does as any I've ever heard.

Judging by all the episode titles suggesting side character episodes, that's seems to be mostly what we're getting for awhile.
Keep in mind that Malachite returned in an episode titled "Super Watermelon Island".
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...There's only like 3 episode titles we know of so far.
That makes a great point. There's plenty of episodes that don't seem hugely progressive by their titles or even synopsis sometimes but end up being huge.

Uh, nope. We've known about a ton of them for months, because Cartoon Network listed them on the site. None of them are particularly spoilery.
Just an FYI. There were people who guessed that. It's not a huge logical leap, that something in the ocean would appear on an episode about an island.

Ian Jones-Quartey has also stated that the episode titles shouldn't be relied on because they weren't announced officially, and they're not in the right order either.
It seems weird to speculate based on information that we're not really supposed to know yet that might not even be 100% accurate.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...So far the titles have been pretty much accurate. The list went as far back as Nightmare Hospital IIRC, and none of them have been renamed.
That's why were joking about the Baseball Episode coming up for awhile, before we even knew for sure it was, btw.
I wouldn't particularly care for Lion being a corrupted gem, either... because by the show's standards it'd just seem like such a mundane explanation. It kinda ruins the character's mystique, you know? Besides, shouldn't the Crystal Gems recognise a corrupted gem when they see one? None of them seems to know exactly what he is, suggesting he's some being unknown to them.
Did anyone think of Aladdin when Steven and Lapis went travelling around the world?
Sure, did.
Yes! And I'm hoping someone makes a parody video with "A Whole New World." Or at least some fanart.

- Lion has no visible gem on his outside.
- Neither does the Big Bird.
- Big Bird has several gems inside its body, in pink bubbles.
- Bismuth is in a pink bubble, 'inside' Lion.

I love this line from Sugar from that interview.
As a crew, we’re always working toward making the show we wanted as children. And a lot of us on the crew are not straight and are not white, and these topics don’t seem like adult topics to us, because they were part of our experience growing up. The more I work on this show, the more incredible it seems to me that these topics are not usually discussed in media for kids. Kids not only get it, many of them are experiencing it themselves, sometimes with no context to tell them their experience makes sense, and almost always without a fun sci-fi fantasy take on that experience featuring wacky cartoon aliens. I’d really like to rectify that.
We need a quotes page for this show.
Besides holding a lot of bubbled gems, The bird seemed to be made up of a lot of gems too, because, IIRC, when they attacked it, it split into a bunch of smaller gems, that turned into smaller birds. It could have been a corrupted fusion or something.

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, Lapis,
Now when did you last let your heart decide?
The same old world
The same old-fashioned point of view
No one to tell us "no"
Or where to go
Or say we're stuck in a mirror

Interview with Sugar.
The Bismuth bubbled in Lion's mane.
Real Bismuth.◊
Gem that might be Bismuth.◊
Rose's shield protected them from whatever that was.
That we can see.
I mean. That one bird that swallowed Steven had a bunch of gems inside of its stomach.
If Lion has a gem it might not be visible.
