...For crying out loud, I hadn't even heard of this Bismuth until you all started talking about it.
I mean, I've brushed up on the wiki and am caught up now, but still.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.Well, I didn't know about her until people started talking about her either, but months ago.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.People here were calling her Rastagem, because of her dreads
That'll do.
Anyway, it's not really Rastagem's fault either, it was all one big crazy misunderstanding, pffft. Whoopsie! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also Lapis said Jasper's name WHERE IS SHE BABY COME BACK
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.OK, I'm confused again. What's the connection between Rastagem and the bubbled bismuth-looking thing in Rose's dimension?
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. They're just guessing the L shaped thing on her chest is a bismuth. There's not a big connection really.
None that we know of for certain. Some people think they're the same gem.
I do think that Bismuth in Lion's pocket dimension will become important later, but no clue if it's the same gem.
I didn't even get a look at her gem, I just saw her dark rainbow dreads.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.The gems are technically genderless usually.
Some female lions have manes.
Also. I'm not sure Lion has a gender identity? Or genitalia.
And. Like, I think there's a difference between the gender presentation of regular humanoid gems and gems that have corrupted into a more animal-like state.
Some of the other corrupted gems look more like masculine members of the species they most resemble.
The other thing is that.
The most common theory of Lion being a corrupted gem is that he's Pink Diamond.
Lions represent gods and/or royalty symbolically. They're very regal. Their mane looks vaguely like a crown.
So. In a way.
Like, it's not random at all. Or a red herring. The gem royalty turns into an animal shape that represents royalty.
Lionesses aren't usually seen as royal. Go figure. It's called the Lion King, not the Lion Queen.
Besides human sexism, part of the reason for that is that usually a pride has one adult male lion and multiple lionesses. The lionesses are seen as the "subjects" of the male lion. So, if you're picturing a monarchy. Like, you need one figure in charge ruling over a bunch of other figures.
Nevermind that male lions rarely ever actually do anything.
Male lions are more recognizable as lions in pop culture.
Amethyst has chest and armpit hair when she shapeshifts into the Purple Puma.
Empress Sugar had this to say about progressiveness and kids.

My antivirus is blocking that link, whatever it is.
The rhyme on that page is fail.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Big cats do act a lot like domestic ones, actually in many ways. Obviously they're way more dangerous though.
I just straight up want Lion to be, well, Lion. If Lion isn't Lion then we loose a character, and I genuinely enjoy Lion as a character, and I don't really want his backstory to be too complex. Lions are arguably more heralds of royalty, which really more supports Rose is PD than Lion is PD, because it shows Lion as a herald of Rose.
I can understand how Rose is PD conflicts with the themes of the story, but at the same time I feel like the show isn't going to get that complicated with the backstories.
All cats act like cats.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Even lions know if they fits, they sits
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSame Old World. Another great episode, Goodness ever since Peridot ended up with Crystal gems Steven Universe has been on a freaking roll. So much Lapis in this episode, I probably fangirled a little much in this episode.. I adore her friendship with Steven.
Next episode is gonna be fun too, Peridot and Lapis are my favorite non-crystal gems. Well I mean Peridot is one now, but still.
The gems are definitely female-gendered, but they're very likely sexless.
Lion is male, at least he looks it, and Steven calls him a he. I sincerely doubt that he's Rose Quartz (or Pink Diamond grrrrr), because she lives in Steven's navel now.
I really couldn't know what Lion is, but even Pearl didn't know about him. Maybe he's like...something she whipped up in her room? Since he has all her stuff in his mane.

Hav we seen any Gems that might be Centipeedle?
I don't think so, unless I missed one of the background characters or something.
I'm hoping Monster Reunion will happen soon.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...... who is Bismuth? A Germanic Fusion Dance between Otto von Bismarck and Helmuth von Moltke?
x4 Lion's kinda a conundrum, he's not really a gem himself, doesn't even have a gem anywhere on his body. He's more like his own entity that Rose created. It's hard to say he's considered genderless like gems usually are.

Bismuth is a metal, which when oxidized, is rainbow. Its shown bubbled inside of Lion's pocket dimension, and people think the gem who poofed Lapis was Bismuth.
WATCHING NOW I THINK YOU GUYS MANAGED TO WRITE MORE PAGES THAN LAST WEEK.
-Crosses eyes-
So it really was a photon blaster.
Lapis, out. For like 30 seconds probably.
So she really is staying in the barn. I really don't like that idea, it means we're going to see less of her. Or at least less of her interacting with the Crystal Gems. I feel like they're just gonna eventually sideline all the Homewolds Gems in the barn, because Reasons. -_-
Hot dog satchel!!
Aaand she's back.
-continues rant- And like, Peridot's just going to be watching yaoi anime in her room all day and night, like what even.
Ya moots.
It's the cheesy part. "Check it oooout!"
Lapis stahp.
So she was done in by some rainbow-dreads gem. Bismuth? Probably not id hecking k. And nobody recognized her. War is chaotic, I guess.
And then, she got stepped on.
There Poil! Look, it's the same style where most of the background gems are just sillhouettes and Pearl is herself but monochrome. But she looks really cute somehow. Pearlapis still OTP
She happy nao.
-continues rant- Like seriously, you expect me to believe they're just going to be roomies and watch yaoi anime together?
