The problem with Lapis is that she's stood next to so few other characters (mostly Steven and Jasper) that she just seems somewhere between Amethyst and Pearl's heights. That height range isn't just big, it's one you pay attention to because it encompasses most actual human heights. Because we perceive height relative to ourselves, with less precision the further away, that kind of messes with willing suspension of disbelief.
Imagine yourself as a character in this universe and you're looking at any given character in the eyes while you both stand up. I'd be looking down at Steven and up at Garnet. I'm fairly tall, so I imagine myself about even with Pearl—maybe that's not right, but it's a clear image in my head. Sugilite more than doubled in height for her second appearance, but I don't notice my neck being craned any further upward.
Put another way, the heights of these characters are better expressed with words than units—Steven is small, Greg is average (so are most other adult humans), Pearl is tall, Jasper is enormous—but I can't think of any words to describe Lapis's height. All I hope is that they settle on one side of average. I kind of prefer smaller, because it's cuter that makes her more distinct from Pearl.
Maybe they're going for a Power Girl thing with Peridot's hair, and just keep drawing it bigger until the editors notice.
Once again my opinion hold is left unsure by ambiguous wording.
"I was only meant to visit for a short time..."
That the water particles also stay still with Lapis' water wings just makes the wing flapps look more lazy than it actually is.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Lapis is still able to do her mirror trick. Maybe she was sent to Earth for something regarding that?
Any theory about lion instantly falls into the pit trap of the fact that lion is male. I mean, he can't be an gem, he is an he and there are no male gems. So wtf is he.
my guess, gregs cat.
And yet, Lapis's hair and dress are blowing in the wind.
There are actually lionesses with manes, due to some birth defect or something. They're very rare.
We assume Lion is male, because real lions with manes are almost but not always male. Steven makes the same assumption. My issue with the Bismuth is Lion, theory is the lack of colors in Lion's design, and the fact that Bismuth's Gem is shown bubbled, which would preclude her from manifesting a physical body.

There can be more than one of a gem. But, yeah I don't think Lion is a bismuth.
@JBC31187 I said it "looked" lazy, but it just kind of bugs me.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Still don't think Lion is a bismuth either though, because that gem is clearly just stored inside Lion's mane.
If a bubbled Gem can control an animal...that might be something, that's the only way that theory can work.

Awwwwww it's been too long. Seriously it's hard to believe Chille Tid was a year ago and thus, the last time we'd seen Lapis.
When her tone is happy it's a Most Wonderful Sound for how rare it is. And now she's got a wacky roommate.
I had to pause my copy of the episode with the Jersey jokes.
Also more Noun City names.
Huh, I forgot this was on weekly again, at least momentarily.
I actually liked this episode more than the two previous ones. The previous ones went by super fast, feeling like both events should've more episodes devoted. This, however, took its time and gave us some pretty interesting exposition on what happened.
The wacky roommate was predicted by Steven earlier. Maybe Lapis will also get a job in a local coffee shop?

We can only hope. Nah forget that, have her work in the Big Donut.
I like how Steven basically summarized half of every romantic comedy or sitcom in the 90s that took place in New York.
If she ever got a job, it'd probably be at Greg's carwash.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardThe carwash is automated, so the only time she'd be able to work is if the what they're washing is "too fat".
I'm just wondering why Bizmuth (regardless if that was her in Lapis's flashback) was considered such a high-priority gem by Rose that it's the only bubbled gem kept in that secret place inside Lion.
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawRe: Lion can't be a gem because he's male.
Honestly, gems can take any form they care to (the Purple Puma seems to be male, for example) and corrupted gem beasts likewise can be based on just about anything. We only think Lion is male because of the way he looks. If Lion turned out to be a gem, that form would be as mutable as anything else. It's entirely possible for Lion to be a female gem who is currently taking a male form.
I have a message from another time...While that is true is feels like unnecessary Red Herring. Gems are female-shaped. Lion is one animal that every kid can tell if its a boy or girl. Lets have girl lion that looks like boy. Profit. Like, I know that Steven Universe is progressive and all....but that feels random.
Unrelated, but interesting: Lapis Lazuli just might be based on character from really old anime.

Doug and Rob did a vlog for the two parter at the beginning of the event.
I don't like Lion is a corrupted gem theories. They feel generally unnecessary, at least to me. Also there's the whole "how can a Lion exist and act like a lion if lion is from space" matter. If anything Lion seems like a being created by Rose/PD while on Earth, which explains his loyalty to Rose. Maybe he was based off an actual lion.
My issue with that is it fundamentally contradicts how bubbling works. If Lion was Bismuth she wouldn't be able to both be in a bubble and manifesting herself in the physical world at the same time. I like the "Rastagem is Bismuth" hypothosis though. Also Lion is nowhere near as colorful as Rastagem.
