Some people are speculating the Gem who bubbled Lapis was Bismuth now.
Also, from what I understand there's an episode title called Kiki's Delivery Service, which (aside from the obvious Ghibli reference) I'm kinda hoping involves Lapis.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? It's a good thing that France doesn't have the internet, or this could lead to easy spoilers, right? Right???

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I just said that all discussions of them should be moved to the spoiler thread I set up months back
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Yes, yet Lapis was sent to Earth for whatever reason and was part of casualty damage.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I take it that these episodes will be in French?
Oh God! Natural light! There's apparently a secondary English audio track or something.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Man, the Malachite parts of the song remind me of a heartbeat. It's really creepy. But then the watermelon portion of the song comes in, and everything goes really upbeat.
Also noticed a bit of Sardonyx's theme in part 2.
Ah, storyboard artists◊. You'd think they'd at least have references. (Bit spoilery, but by this point, not by much.)
The people who make the show say they don't care about scale, only what makes an appealing scene. This may or may not be an excuse for being lazy.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Didn't they say they couldn't wait to get rid of Peridot's limb enhancers because it forced them to draw her consistently? lol.
Did Peridot's hair bother anyone else this episode? It seemed so much bigger than normal, to the point that it was distracting.
All it made me think of was Peridot becoming a Super Saiyan.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Totally. But I can't fault it since she was seen for less than 1 whole minute.
Either that or her head was unnaturally tiny.
Noticed the tiny head, bigh hair scene...eh.
Not big deal, weird but not too distracting.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. What makes it weirder is that with Lapis being that tall in that shot it makes Steven look really small. He looks like he's 6.
He's 8...height wise in universe, close enough.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Will World Of SU have the episodes uploaded as soon as they've aired in France? If not can someone PM me with another website that will have them with the English audio track
What Lapis was doing there is an interesting question. She says she was just supposed to "visit" Earth and mentions being there to see everything, so maybe she was just there to survey the planet (though I can't imagine why Homeworld would need someone like that at that stage - but then again she seemed like a civilian, so maybe she wasn't formally connected to the authority.) and arrived just before the war broke out.
And while she was punished by Homeworld for a crime she didn't commit, it looks like she might have been bubbled by a Crystal Gem (either way, the Dreadlock Rasta Gem that first bubbled Lapis is now one of my new favorite random designs in this series)
On an unrelated note Peridot's post-Face-Turn personality continues to be really fun. She's practically a Genki Girl now, and I really like the "smug and arrogant, but she knows everyone knows its bull" vibe she has.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. They spent a lot of screentime making it clear that Lion wasn't around in this episode, didn't they? That, plus the earlier shot of Lion's eyes tracking Steven as he walks into the barn, strikes me as significant, but I've no idea what it's significant of. Any theories?

I've moved from the "Rose is Pink Diamond" theory to the "Lion is Pink Diamond" theory. That's just my gut based on how much she's been obscured from the audience, and how little we know about Lion.
I wonder if the Crystal Gems had a Lapis Lazuli of their own during the war. That would explain why they were so god-damned sure she knew valuable information.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
There's one theory that the Gem who poofed Lapis was Bismuth, and that Lion is a corrupted Bismuth.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Seeing how upset Lapis is seeing Peridot, I'm a bit nervous about her potential reaction to a friendly Jasper.
I'm happy with the mirror explanation. The Crystal Gems didn't suddenly turn out to be assholes, but I do find one bit interesting about it. Lapis wasn't fighting for homeworld or the rebellion. There were gems that didnt pick a side, and just wanted to avoid conflict.
And I'm kind of happy that we're getting a "Titans East" type situation with the barn. Unfortunately, this means the homeworld gems won't wind up interacting with people at Beach City as often.
