I noticed lack of one general thread regarding Warhammer Fantasy, so I decided to create a one. :)
Not only Warhammer Fantasy Battle discussions welcomed, but also all things related to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (regardless of edition).
If anyone has questions regarding Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay's second edition, feel free to ask since I own most of its sourcebooks.

I would like to see Bone Throwers for Tomb Kings. Bolt Throwers that fire the bones of giants have been in the lore since the Undead were a single faction and the Tomb Kings got them for Warmaster, just never in the main game.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellThis time on the 40-year retrospective they take a look at the classic Orc Shaman. I still like this model a lot, along with many others made for the 1998 update for the Orcs. The rank-and-file boyz are among my absolute favourite Warhammer-sculpts ever.
More stuff on the Lizardmen, with a focus on the Saurus and Slann. I think it is decided now: I will buy a box of the Saurus at some point, because I see so much potential in those sculpts. Besides using them Lizardmen, I'll also use them as Draconic Humanoids, with and without wings.
I've always been a fan of that Shaman. It's on my list of old models I wish I had.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellHeadcanon: Karl Franz and Deathclaw have a relationship like General Melchett and Speckled Jim.
I think it can be applied to most named Heroes and their mounts. I picture Gorbad to be a big softie whenever he's alone with Gnarla, giving the boar belly-rubs after some violent wrestling.
Double-post: Yet another article about the Lizardmen, this time a look at why they have returned and what challenges will face them in the Era of the Beast. Interesting to see that there is indeed a connection to Dracothion, even if it is merely that he helped them navigate to the new cosmos. I wonder if this will be used as an in-universe explanation for why many of the Seraphon look a bit more Draconic than before?
I like the in-universe justification for the lizards getting new dinosaur mounts by having them awaken as a result of the new flood of Ghur energy.
This time the 40-year retrospective takes a look at the Bloodthirster. As weird as it may sound, I kinda prefer the older sculpts for the Greater Daemons to the new ones, as well as Be'lakor. While the newer ones benefit from improved materials and sculpting-technology, I still like the slightly cartoonier asthetic of the older Daemons, for having plenty of character. Trish Carden/Morrison is one of my favourite sculptors of monstrous humanoids for Warhammer. That's why I'd kinda want a Bloodthirster in-between the last metal one and the new plastic one.
The GW Design Studio are showcasing their teams for Blood Bowl. There are some nice kitbashes seen here, and yet another reminder of the potential with the BB-sculpts for use in other games.
I was never very much of a fan of that Bloodthirster. The Epic one (on the right) was always my favourite.
Meant to post this early but forgot. There are Warhammer Fest previews Saturday, Sunday and Monday◊. The Fantasy ones are Warhammer Underworlds & Warcry from Noon on Saturday, AoS Noon Sunday and Old World 2pm Sunday (all dates UK time).
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellThat Bloodthirster in 28mm would be nice. Technically, the Gargoyle for Hero Quest is just that, but I'd like to see that particular design polished a bit as a new model.
Double-post: A new box for Warcry, Nightmare Quest, with Stormcast vs Flesheaters. I really like the look of the Royal Beastflayers, with some vaguely tribal-looking Ghouls and undead attack-baboons. The Vampire in charge looks like an excellent parody of a noble knight, as well as an even more morbid version of Azog.
The Executioners of Nagash arrive to Wyrdhollow. There are elements on these models that I like, such as the candles on one of the ghosts. But for some reason the overall effect doesn't work for me. I think it might be due to the proportions, because the skulls look so incredibly tiny compared to the otherwise gaunt arms.

I like both the Stormcast & the Flesh-Eaters. The Stormcast look very individual (probably due to being Questors) with the woman (I think) with the big hammer probably being my favourite. The Royal Beastflayers are also very nice. I think the one with the axe is female, and if so I think she is the first female Ghoul. The Offal Hounds look like a great mix of bat, dog and ghoul.
The Executioners are good. I like that they have toned down the green in their colour scheme compared to past Nighthaunt models

Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellSome sweet Sigmarite cavalry. While they are chiefly based on Empire Knights and will fit just fine in the Old World, I also like the subtle resemblance to Bretonnians.
The Orruks get a big piggie.
Special characters for Nurgle, Goblins, Fireslayers and Flesheater Courts.

All those look great. The Cavaliers are wonderfully gothic and the Big Pig is quite fun. Of the four new characters, I like the Fyreslayer the best but I do love the stratified rock the Harbinger of Decay is standing on.
Old World Preview: A Paladin & Tomb King on Foot.
That Paladin◊ is awesome. Love the impaled Orc head & the stag helm. While I I not a fan of the green skin they have given the Tomb King◊, the model itself is good.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellOne thing they confirmed in the stream was that we’ll be getting some kind of army book equivalent, as they showed off some of the art.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranI think I would like to convert the Harbinger of Decay into an undead character, like a Death Knight, maybe even paint the horse to look like a frozen zombie. He looks already like a Psychopomp, so I'd like to take it a step further.
I really like how noble the Tomb King appears, even a bit heroic. He looks like he could be a mummy Terror Hero in a pulp comic, punishing the wicked.
That Paladin is also great. Seeing him makes me picture a small retinue of questing knights and squires on a mission, to search for an important relic. With the Bretonnians and Tomb Kings getting mentioned in almost every Old World update, I wonder if there will be a starter box that pits Bretonnians against Tomb Kings?
New heroes.
Interview with the Slayer Sword winner, about his sweet-looking kitbashed Elf King. That is gorgeous and makes me want to make some Elves of my own.
Double-post: This time on the 40-year retrospective they focus on Deathmaster Snikch. Even though this is of the "monkey paw" era of Skaven designs, I think this is one of the better-aged models ever made for them. I have a fondness for these older Skaven and like to see them next to their newer kin, whenever the models can still fit together aesthetically. Thankfully, I can always justify artistic discrepancies by claiming that these are the results of Skaven breeding programmes.
The original Snikch is still one of my favourite Skaven models. I do actually have one myself, but one of his knives went missing years ago so I have never got around to painting it.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellDouble Post for Today on Warhammer Community:
1. Blood Bowl Star Player The Great Black Bull, Grashnak Blackhoof◊. A very nice model. I particularly like what appears to be a Fleash Hound head impaled on his shoulder pad.
2. Rules preview for the new Stormcast Warcry warband.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellThat is probably the finest Minotaur by GW I've seen in ages. The earlier one for BB was really cool too, but this guy has so much character. He looks like a proper army leader, with lots of chutzpah. He even has a nice pair of antlers going for him. With the hood he kinda looks like he could be a spellcaster of some sort, so I could see him wield a shaman's staff in one hand. Even with all the Chaos iconograph, Grashnak reminds me of the Tauren in Warcraft, so I might convert him into that role.
Double-post: A closer look at the Royal Beastflayers. I see potential in converting this warband to even further be a twisted parody of Knights In Shining Armor, by making them look more like Bretonnians. They could be kitbashed with both actual Bretonnian pieces, as well as Nurgle kits, because a lot of mortal Nurgle-worshippers have bits that make them resemble decaying Medieval knights.
Having just picked up Necropolis28 I could also see them working as good Blood units for that game.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.
Just one? I see a lot of potential in expanding on the lands faraway from the Old World, like the Southlands. Gnolls have long been among my favourite fantasy-monsters, so expanding on the fauna and cultures of the Southlands seem like an opportunity to introduce a Warhammer-y take on Hyena-men.
