Basically, I completely, absolutely and miserably misread the initial post. Thought it was a "I don't understand comics anymore !" thing, instead of a comparison. So I was telling why Marvel cosmic stories are the only Marvel comics I read nowadays. My bad.
Was it said, explicitly or not, in Av X, that the heros were basically rewarding the people for being ungrateful? It seems to tie in with what's been said earlier that DC is more idealistic or that Marvel is cynical as hell.
I don't really see how Marvel is cynical. I mean, nobody's condoning something like Ultimates 3, but Batman can be one of the most cynical, grimdarky things on the market. I mean, the Joker cuts his own face off why exactly? I can't exactly call Marvel cynical when they have characters like Captain America or Spider-Man, who are always respectively patriotic or snarky.
Jim Shooter summed it up pretty well. He said something about how in every issue of Superman, everyone was just, "Oh, it's Superman," whereas civilians in Marvel are always all like "Holy Crap, the Human Torch! That guy's on fire!"

The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]Yeah, he was talking about Silver Age DC. That's when he started writing. It never ceases to make me laugh every time a thug tries to pick a fight with Spider-Man. The Avenger. The guy who punched out flaming space Cthulhu.

I like both, though I think at one point, I preferred DC due to the DCAU(and now Young Justice), but there things I like about Marvel as well.
I notice that DC has a lot more Teenage Superhero teams then Marvel(at least until recently). That's probably due to their more...what's the word I'm looking for...
...lesser emphasis on realism perhaps? I don't know.
I believe both have their strengths and weaknesses.
