Today I found out an interesting fact from troper Ironeye:
Don't ever make the mistake of using the Laconic version as the canonical trope meaning—the laconics are often written by people who don't actually understand the drop. In this case, the laconic only corresponds to one possible cause of Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy.
The Laconic Description for DIAA states as follows:
The thing is, these descriptions are supposed to make it easier to understand what the page is about. If they can't be accurate as well as short and sweet, then there's a problem.
So for starters, what would be a better description for DIAA?

The second one definitely doesn't work because it's telling people to go and read Archived Army, then twist what they read. Laconics shouldn't be telling people to read a completely different trope just to understand this one.
The first one seems to be a bit ZCE. It also claims there's some kind of team-up involved, which the trope description doesn't state. If that's the intention of the trope, it may need a visit to the trope description clean-up page just to clarify that.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Reread the page. The title gave me the idea it's about historical villains working together and a decent amount of examples are based off that. TRS?
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I don't know. If that is the original intention of the trope, then it won't need a TRS, it'll just need a clarification. However, if that wasn't the original intention, it'll probably need a TRS (and a wick check to see how it's being used).
I'm really not very good with the trope launch area of the wiki, so my engagement with it is limited. I don't know how to search the site for drafts of old tropes that don't have a link on the Discussion Page (or even whether it's possible to). If it's possible to do that, it may be best to start there and see whether the draft makes the intention of the trope clear.
My gut instinct tells me that your interpretation, the current laconic, and most of those examples are probably right, which is why I think you may just need a trope clarification on the clean-up thread. I just don't know how to confirm that.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Ok, I'll post the concerns on the Trope Description Improvement thread first to see if it needs TRS.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Laconic.Bite The Wax Tadpole is misleading — "When advertising gets Lost in Translation." It doesn't even really always fit Lost in Translation.
Suggested replacement: "Advertising slogans translate poorly in other regions."

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I support the suggestion.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Seconded.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Much better.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Laconic.Screw The Rules Theyre Not Real, fittingly ig, is currently screwing the rule that laconics should only have one laconic.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I'd keep the second and cut the first. The second one is crystal clear.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Laconic.I Believe That You Believe It doesn't exist yet. We're thinking this:
I don't think you're lying... mistaken or delusional, but not lying.
This look good, or does anyone have improvements? Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
Looks good to me, but I admit my familiarity with the trope is next to nil.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Three Month Rule starts with a summary that is weirdly in italics, maybe it should be pushed to Laconic?

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThat's italics, not cursive. Several "rule" pages summarize the rule before explaining it that way and I find it helpful.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Laconic.Double Tap is overlapping too much with Make Sure He's Dead; the trope is about shooting someone/thing multiple times in rapid succession to ensure a kill. I propose to change it to "Quickly shooting a target several times to guarantee a kill."
That one sounds too much like Multiple Gunshot Death, and I don't see "rapid succession" necessary. I propose "Two or three bullets into vital organs are safer than one".
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThat could work, too.
The Laconic Page for Breaking Bad is as follows: "Mr. Chips becomes Scarface." I believe that this can be confusing to people who aren't familiar with Mr. Chips or Scarface. Why not change it to something like "A high school chemistry teacher learns he has cancer and gets involved in the drug business." Hopefully that will be an improvement over the current description.
I’m gonna change it back to what it was previously: “A high school chemistry teacher goes From Nobody to Nightmare.”

Do we have a How To Write A Laconic page? If not, it seems like it would be a good idea to make one and link to it from the Laconic Wiki page.
That’s not a terrible idea.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?Probably should be.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupLaconic.A New Hope Danganronpa has a bunch of spoiler text. In general it could probably use some reworking from somebody who knows more about it than I do.
edit: The laconics for Recap.Veggie Tales In The House are some of the longest on the wiki, and also lack the return template. Those recaps in general unfortunately suffer from Walls of Text.
