I work at a library, and through it I discovered the Rainbow Magic series.

I can't stop looking at them. The books are so cute! I hope more come out in the US soon.

I also like how, despite them being written as harmless fun and what seems to be a deliberate lack of scary things, you can still find Nightmare Fuel if you try :P

For a second, I Thought It Meant the Color Magic series, which is something entirely different.

It seems like fairies get associated with colors a lot.

Still can't stop reading them. i think it's because, since the heroes are usually generic, I want to see how close Jack Frost gets to winning.

They made an animated adaption, it had some really good animation.

I work at a library too, and I'm pretty sure I've seen these, but I've never tried reading them. Maybe I should give them a look.

I recall a classic book or series featuring very detailed illustrations of fairies. I wonder if these were inspired by that...

I hadn't heard about it. So it's one of those No Export for You deals? Great.

I found two videos of Rainbow Magic songs on YouTube. Unfortunately, nothing else whatsoever, though. They were pretty good, animation style on one of them kind of reminds me of a film I like called Laura's Star. Also, I read one of the books, and I found it alright, though I'm not in any hurry to read anymore at the moment.

I guess we have something in common, OP: I also work in a library, and I had never heard of this series before I started the job. When I was new, I would often sort stacks of paperbacks, and these books would turn up so frequently that I couldn't help but notice how many of them there were. I've never actually read any of them, but if these books had been available to me when I was roughly seven years old, I probably would have been mad about them. tongue In any case, they seem to be massively popular with the patrons at our location.

Rachel squeeing over a baby penguin in Pia the Penguin Fairy's book was pretty much the most adorable thing ever. It was drawn really well, too x3

I found out something kind of funny recently. Apparently the theme of the newest set of Rainbow Magic books is "the pop star fairies". One of them is the "voice coach fairy". What did they name her? Adele. I see what you did there, Daisy Meadows! And another one is named Miley. I had a bit of a laugh over that while I was loading up a cart of paperbacks last week.

I volunteer at a library, and I see these books all the time. I don't think I've sorted a single cart of kids' fiction that didn't have either this or Geronimo Stilton...or both. They look like the kind of thing that'd be fun to read if you were of the right age and mindset.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of Geronimo Stilton also, though from what I've heard, they're really weak.

Try a used bookstore; I poked around in the children's section of a bookstore in my town, and the Rainbow Magic paperbacks were going for around a dollar each. Is there a good secondhand store where you live?

If you're a fan of this series, read Autumn the Falling Leaves Fairy's book. It was AMAZING. One of the books that shows how deep the series can be when it tries, and it had genuinely high stakes and even some scary and sad moments.
