Episode 7:
- Well, I'll be damned... Dia is actually encouraging Ruby to pursue her dream of being a school idol...
- (*while looking at a bunch of μ's merchandise*) Two years after the first-years of the group (Maki, Rin, Hanayo) already graduated, μ's is still damn popular. (If we're going by the assumed timeline of Riko entering Otonokizaka as a first-year just after the graduation of Yukiho and Arisa. Hope I got my math and timeline right. [See below for detailed explanation/extrapolation.])
- (*while seeing a sign that says: "Fallen Angel" "Black Magic Shop"*) I wouldn't be surprised if Yoshiko (a.k.a: Yohane) bumped into Ranko (a.k.a: Rosenburg Engel), Rikka (a.k.a: Tyrant's/Wicked Eye), Ruri (a.k.a: Kuroneko) or Kobato (a.k.a: Reisys V. Felicity Sumeragi) there.
- "Chin-in-hand kisses"...what's that about? EDIT: Oh, this
.
- I had a hunch Saint Snow will be the A-RISE to Aqours' μ's as soon as Chika saw them singing at the shrine...
Note/extrapolation:
- One year after μ's wins Love Live: Eli, Nico, and Nozomi graduate; Honoka, Kotori, and Umi become third years; Maki, Rin, and Hanayo become second years; Yukiho and Arisa become freshmen. Two years after μ's wins Love Live: Honoka, Kotori, and Umi graduate; Maki, Rin, and Hanayo become third years; Yukiho and Arisa become second years.Three years after μ's wins Love Live: Maki, Rin, and Hanayo graduate; Yukiho and Arisa become third years.Four years after μ's wins Love Live: Yukiho and Arisa graduate; Riko becomes a freshman.Five years after μ's wins Love Live (a.k.a.: Present day): Riko transfers to Uranohoshi in her second year.

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."So, is there a trope for Ria doing acrobatic tricks out of nowhere? There is Rule of Cool, but I'm looking for something more specific.
And congratulations on another Nico clone.
Some idols are more powerful than the others.

Episode 8:
That vocal blending, that guitar riff... Saint Snow may be smug as f***, but when they have the talent to back it up, it's a Tough Act to Follow for Aqours. So it was a surprise that the duo didn't win, even with that performance.
Zero audience votes for Aqours... Ouch.
Finally! Dia, Mari and Kanan's back story! I'm gonna assume this was back in their second year.
Kanan's PG-friendly Cool and Unusual Punishment (basically being a Cuddle Bug until the party being cuddled/hugged yields to her) is PG-friendly. And Dia laughing, smiling, and being genki?! (What the blin?) Which makes it all the more sadder when they failed to win that event in Tokyo. Poor Dia took the loss really hard...

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."@mwisse: Ay blin...Off-topic note My bad.
As for the question why the younger members of Aqours don't know about Dia, Mari and Kanan's backstory, my best guess is that they simply didn't hear about it.
Word of mouth can only spread so far (especially via traditional, non-Internet methods), and considering the amount of competition Dia, Mari and Kanan's group faced, their group was most likely overwhelmed by the buzz about the other groups. (The fact that their group felt overwhelmed by on-stage pressure didn't help matters.)
In Chika's case, not hearing about Dia, Mari and Kanan's group might also be justified as she has been more focused on μ's rather than the other entries in Love Live (Dia, Mari and Kanan's group included).[/end wmg]
Well, if the show decides to confirm or joss the theory, I don't mind, as long as it still makes sense from a logical standpoint.

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."While Chika not knowing about the third years' attempt at being school idols can be justified, it's more jarring that Ruby knows nothing about it. There's no reason why Dia wouldn't tell Ruby about her trip to Tokyo before setting off two years ago, given how much both of them loved school idols.

There isn't going to be an A-RISE spinoff. One of the seiyuus quit the business. And that's terrible, since we need more Tsubasa. Tsubasa is just like dakka.
Episode 9:
Starting off the bat with the scene of Dia, Mari and Kanan breaking up their idol group two years ago? Right in the feels, man!
You: "You didn't knew about it at all until you asked, huh?"
Well, partially confirmed that Chika really didn't know about Dia, Mari and Kanan's previous stint as school idols until Dia told them.
You almost falling immediately reminded me of this
◊... Also had a laugh (and my "flag was raised," if you know what I mean) when Yoshiko did a wrestling hold on Dia.
So it's not about Dia, Mari and Kanan being overwhelmed by on-stage pressure, as I initially thought... Kanan decided not to sing on account of Mari's injured ankle, fearing what would possibly happen if they went on with the performance. Damn... And that scene of Mari and Kanan making up... Right in the feels again!
And the Fellowship is complete...with a beautiful performance, to boot!
So "Aqours" was the actual name of Dia, Mari and Kanan's school idol group? And it was Dia who wrote "Aqours" on the sand? DOUBLE SHOCK!!
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."

A mid-tempo song! A MID-TEMPO SONG!
Do not spare the feelings of those who would not spare yours.
