Apparently DC Comics did a 9-part Flash Gordon comic miniseries in the late 80's, written by Dan Jurgens. Is it any good? I only discovered this today o.o

As with most things presided over by Dan Jurgens, the art was pretty but the writing left much to be desired. Flash is a washed up athlete in it, if that tells you anything. In the original comic strip he was an athlete, too but he was also something of a gentleman-soldier; why do so many "updates" feel the need to make him either a lunkhead or a loser?

It looked interesting enough anyway so I bought some issues online.

And then gave it a trope page.
