Superman's 75th anniversary

I did research and it looks like that Superman's 75th anniversary will be this June, since Action Comics 1 was released in June 1938.

Will DC do something special for Superman (besides Man of Steel, which doesn't seem to be acknowledging it)? 75 is a pretty good number.

DC will indeed do something for Superman's 75th Anniversary. Will we like it is another question entirely.

Heck, Marvel did jack for the Fantastic Four on their 50th; why should DC even bother raising a finger?

Also Superman is far more popular than Fantastic Four. I was more suprised that Avengers vs X-Men took place in the 49th year of their existence.

[up][up]Meh, that's the sort of thing they could do at any time. Maybe they could have published some sort of documentary or coffee table art book, like Rebellion recently did for Judge Dredd's 35th anniversary, or maybe even have the mainstream and Ultimate teams meet, like they did for the Spider-Man 50th.

As for Superman, maybe bundle a copy of Action Comics #1 with every copy of Superman sold?

Y'know it was possible they would've lost Superman at this anniversary, until it was found out the Siegel and Shuster estates were concealing evidence...

Namor (and the original Human Torch) first appeared in '39, so yep, next year. Robin the Boy Wonder (the Dick Grayson version, anyway) will be 75 in 2015.

And to celebrate, Superman wakes up in a cold sweat on the JLA watchtower! He gets a call on his cell from Lois, reminding him not to miss their anniversary dinner! Wally West casually looks over and asks him what's wrong! Everything post-Flashpoint was all a dream, except Aquaman is still cool. Yay!

Hey, I can dream.

And the same thought went into making Spiderman's 700th issue. When Marvel likes an idea, they stick to it...
