Well Annor, I hope that we will be capable of putting aside our differences and only having characters that want each other dead.

Also, give me like an hour and I'll have a less broken Washington up; I figure I'll just remove Bulletproof Man and make Roger Leo the main attraction here.

Actually, I see a bit of a problem with Franky there.

(1) Correct me if I'm wrong, but under our criteria, Scream of the False Life Form falls under mental interference, does it not? I mean, we've discouraged people from playing Diarmuid before because we thought his Love Spot counted as mental interference, so I don't see why this should be allowed. And even if it doesn't count, it's still a completely broken skill, as it essentially allows spamming of, from what I can tell, a costless stun spell which effects everyone except those with pre-existing skills in mental resistance. And it's in the hands of Berserker, who could easily just spam it to create an opening and get in close range, thus negating one of the class's biggest disadvantages. Point is, it's capable of robbing control away from other players, and is very abusable.

(2) Galvanism is another broken skill that I feel is worth commenting on. Now, while Masters aren't supposed to fight Servants in general (because they would get annihilated) it's still expected that they back up their Servant in case it is needed (see Rin vs. Berserker and Shirou in general). But this skill means that the Master can't even chip in to help their Servant, because most spells require no material existence except for spells involving a solid or liquid, which are far outnumbered by things such as curses, wind spells, energy manipulation, and pyrokinesis, will just be absorbed, and even heal Berserker. This means the Caster class itself is almost all but useless against her, not to mention that you've basically handed her A-Rank Magic Resistance when the Berserker class isn't supposed to have that skill (generally speaking *cough*Lancelot*cough*). It's one of their primary disadvantages, and in this case not only does she negate magic, it heals her. Masters can't use most of their spells except for a select few, and conventional weapons don't hurt Servants, meaning only Ht H combat with other Servants can hurt her. And she's Berserker. The class best known for Ht H combat. I'm sorry, what?

(3) The chance of an auto-respawn after using a supposed suicide attack. The stat sheet says probability is low, but PIS dictates that unless the player wants them to die, that suicide attack ain't killing them, meaning you can basically get away with using that attack at least once totally scot free.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not comfortable with this.

Alright, so, this'll probably never work... but... oh well. Always wanted to play this Assassin, so here goes!

  • Class: Assassin
  • Master: N/A
  • True Name: Semiramis
  • Gender: Female
  • Height/ Weight: 160cm, 50kg
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Appearance: “Hello my dear darling... is there anyone that you wish to see become a wilted flower today?”
  • Personality: A very energetic and enthusiastic person who enjoys indulging herself with luxurious things. She also loves finer and high-class things. Enjoys cooking, dancing, music, cosmetics, and hairdressing with a burning passion. She sees men as nothing more than tools to be abused and used, mostly because of her captivating face which instantly seduces them. As a side note, she has very tsundere and yandere attributes which will change depending on the situation of the person whom she claims to be her true lover (she will sometimes act cold and what not towards them when in a normal situation, and she will perform any type of dark or cruel deed, killing anyone or anything who gets in her way if it means that she'll avenge, protect, obtain, or even save her lover).
  • Stats:
    • Strength: E
    • Endurance: D
    • Agility: C
    • Magical Energy: A
    • Luck: A
    • Noble Phantasm (Rank): B++
  • Class Skills:
    • Presence Concealment (A+): It is possible to disappear completely and become almost impossible to be detected. However, efficacy will decrease once preparations to attack are taken.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Golden Rule (B): Has incredible wealth; most money-related problems are unknown.
    • Charisma (A): Can be said to have achieved the greatest level of popularity as a human being.
    • Expert of Many Specializations (B): Has access to a large range of skills that range from cooking, dancing, and cosmetics to elaborate assassinations, espionage, and infiltrations.
    • Eye of the Mind (True) (A+): Semiramis is hailed as an indisputable queen who is incapable of being challenged. She is able to analyze things very calmly with extremely accurate results, even in life threatening danger or against impossible odds she will always remain calm and come up with clever counter-strategies. She is able to deduce an appropriate and near-perfect course of action once taking in all of the possibilities on her current situation. Even against impossible odds or facing conditions where there would be nothing but certain defeat for a normal Servant, this ability guarantees her that there will be at least a chance of winning. This ability also greatly improves her chances of winning in normal fights.
    • Divinity (B): Semiramis was originally worshiped as a goddess, and she even claimed to be the human incarnation of Ishtar, and that Gilgamesh was actually her son.
    • Witchcraft (B+): The Dakini heavenly methods. It includes methods to discern one's time of death and secret arts to obtain influence, such as methods to attain status and fortune (for men) and methods to gain the favor of influential individuals (for women). Despite being an Assassin, Semiramis still has access to some of her Witchcraft abilities; mainly curses and hexes.
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • The Blessing of Ishtar (A, Support): A passive Noble Phantasm that serves as a great defense for Semiramis, taking the form of a golden dove tattoo on her stomach. If Semiramis dies, the tattoo will automatically disappear and will enable her to be reborn from her corpse with a temporary boost in all of her stats depending upon how strong the Servant was who killed her (If the Servant who killed her was stronger than her in one stat category, she would receive one full rank up in all stats; two stat categories would be two full rank ups; three stat categories would be three full rank ups, and so on and so forth). However, by doing so the golden dove tattoo disappears, and her death cannot be prevented a second time.
    • Kingsbane; The Chasity of Lords (B++, Anti-Personnel): A Noble Phantasm that literally takes the form of a belt and can be used as a whip. It is also always looped through the gems on the front of Assassin's hands. It is the crystallization of the event where Semiramis killed her husband with poison and becoming the first legendary figure to use poison to murder someone. When activated it creates blood red flowers constructed completely out of poison that Semiramis can fully control, changing their shape, size, state, composition and the type of poison they are made of, in addition to that it also grants her perfect comprehension on the most efficient use of each type of poison she uses. The flowers can be of any type of poison in the world and even the smallest drop has the same mystical strength as an A ranked Noble Phantasm, meaning that even Heroic Spirits and Phantasmal Beasts can be killed by her poison. Unlike most Noble Phantasms, there is no buildup of mana or traces of it being used in her poison, and thus it is impossible to detect besides it being a type of liquid. Its first + modifier is activated if the target is a leadership figure (example: a general, president, head manager, principal, officer, CEO, etc.). The second + modifier is activated if the target is hailed as a king, tyrant, queen, or someone of equivalent value, and at this point the poison becomes so potent that even a single drop on the target's skin is more than enough to severely cripple their combat abilities. If her poison were to get into their system, it would take no less than a powerful healing artifact to save them from certain death.
    • The Ishtar Gate; The Gate of Semiramis and The Hanging Gardens of Babylon (A+, Support): A powerful Noble Phantasm that Assassin can call upon at anytime. It comes in the form of a large vertical wall which is covered in all of the world's plants, making it look to be as if it were a giant tree. It is the manifestation of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the Ishtar Gate that were both tributes to her. The wall by itself is an impassible and impenetrable structure that is capable of defending against even the strongest of Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasms, but with the addition of the Hanging Gardens, its defenses are further strengthened and it is capable of halting or stopping even Anti-Army Noble Phantasms. When used, Semiramis is capable of using every single plant upon the wall as if they were an extension of her body, and is capable of ejecting, spewing, or coating the plants in her poison through her Kingsbane.

Still kind of confused here... but the changes have been made?

There are plenty of Skills that are actually just slight modifications of others. This is easily fixed by making Mystic Face a more specialized Charisma.

Here goes nothing.

  • Class: Saber
  • Master: TBD
  • True Name: Atilla the Hun
  • Gender: Male
  • Height/Weight: 6'10, 350 lbs.
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Appearance: With the sword of Mars in hand.
  • Personality: His very self can be best described with the phrase: "Ruthless Justice". Attila is a cruel, merciless force of destruction to those that deserve it (His enemies and people whom he deems "unworthy", which is quite a very wide and ill-defined definition), while being is a firm but fair taskmaster to his subjects; such is his fairness that he chooses to live like the lowest soldier, eschewing jewelry and exotic foods for the soldier's garb and his gruel. But despite his simple tastes, Atilla is no follower and his master must prove worthy of his servitude and loyalty by appealing to both his pride and Ruthless Justice.
  • Stats:
    • Strength: A
    • Endurance: B
    • Agility: C
    • Magical Energy: B
    • Luck: B
    • Noble Phantasm (Rank): D (A+)
  • Class Skills:
    • Magic resistance (B)
    • Riding (A)
  • Personal Skills:
    • Military tactics (B): Atilla the Hun was only ever beaten once in the field of battle, and even then, it was a very, very close defeat.
    • Disengage (C): Attila, while a vicious and brutal warlord; was no fool and often used whatever tactic suited his army best, and since his army was that of horsemen; the very first of it's kind to have conquered such a large amount of land up until the Mongols of Genghis Khan and the Timurids of Tamerlane; he has all but mastered the strategy of "Hit and run". But it is not as high as it should be due to him not being of the rider class.
    • Charisma (B-): Receives a negative modifier due to him believing in "Might Makes Right" causing him to drill his soldiers into the ground, earning resentment and further adding to his reputation as a very bad person
    • Bravery (B)
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • The Sword of Tiew (AKA: The Sword of Mars), The war god's blade (Anti unit, D) In actuality: (Anti Army, A+): A beat-up nondescript cavalry saber that had been with Attila ever since he came to rule over the Huns. In it's default state, there is absolutely nothing that can warn anyone of it's true nature apart from the fact that it seems to be much tougher than it's stats suggest. But once activated by Attila saying the phrase: "I shall never be defeated in battle, as long as I fight with the sword of Tiew!". The sword will then reveal it's true colors in a radial burst of fire 10 meters across and will from then on, be wreathed in a jacket of roaring flames 5 meters long; but at the cost of severely reducing Attila's combat endurance to as little as 5 minutes. In an emergency (and with the use of a command seal) Attila can infuse all of his remaining mana into the sword and unleash it in the form of an all-consuming wave of fire that can reduce a square hectare area of land into nothing but ashes and dust.

So, um, because people keep getting rejected and there's a load of skills that... don't have any explanation for why they're there or deviate from the skill description, I thought this would come in handy. [lol]

A Guide to Making Servants

  • Step One) Pick a Mythological or Historical Figure.
    • Remember, they themselves have to have done something notable. No-one gets in just for being a ruler or killed. Additionally, they can't come from Biblical Mythology from Noah or earlier, because that conflicts with the Epic (Utnapishtim) and therefore makes them ineligible.
    • Secondly, check how much of a person they are, if they're a monster. Surtr is mostly human in form, fully intelligent, and wields a sword. Medusa was a human-formed Divine Spirit. Chiron, I presume, gets in because he's a nice guy and taught a bunch of heroes.
  • Step Two) Pick a Class
    • If considering Berserker, make sure they went into a berserk rage at SOME point. Heracles did, Lancelot manically killed a bunch of his friends, Cu Chullain was KNOWN for berserk rages.
    • Make sure it's an appropriate class. If they have no noteworthy skills to fit any of the classes, fudge history a bit. Unless improperly summoned (Casterthulhu), no Servant should be entirely beholden to their Noble Phantasms to do anything.
  • Step Three) Statistics!
    • Match the stats to the deeds. Someone whose forte is in mental games will NOT have high strength or agility for their class.
    • Check with the canon heavyweights—King Arthur (Rin stats), Heracles, and Gilgamesh. If you're exceeding either of the first two (and exceeding Heracles in strength), then it's time to take a step back. If you're eclipsing Gilgamesh in physical areas and drawing equal or close to it in the other two stats, check if you're an unfathomably famous Saber or Berserker. Otherwise, it's time to tone things down a few steps.
  • Step Three) Skills!
    • Class skills are simple. Roughly speaking, if your history brings you into contact with magical stuff and your class is entitled to Magic Resistance, then B, unless there's something to strongly suggest (like Saber's insane mana amounts) it should be raised to A. C is awarded as a class default. Caster, unless flighty by nature, should have B-Rank in Territory Creation without something better. Rider has A+ if they're from a time with Phantasm Species in abundance. Presence Concealment is pretty much always A+ if you actually killed.
    • Personal Skills are a difficult balancing act, but firstly: always read canonical skill descriptions carefully, then look up what lead the canon character to have that skill. As a simple example: Lancer has Battle Continuation because his last battle was mostly fought with a huge wound in his guts and tied to a stone so he could stand up. It's not for scratches.
    • Eye of the Mind (False) is natural intuition to overcome handicaps such as an invisible sword. (True) is the ability to plan. Both of these are exclusively combat skills—one is a natural grasp of combat, one is a faint grasp enhanced through a lifetime of skill. Make sure you give the right one—natural genius, or did they live for the fight? Instinct is a sort of sixth sense and is a third option (also instinctual, you don't really gain it) but shouldn't be paired with either.
    • Keep an eye on skill number. The most skills possessed by any canon Servant is Lancer, and subtracting Divinity reveals there's four, and only one is of A Rank.
    • Keep an eye on skill RANK. When Alexander the Great has Military Tactics at rank B, you have to have a REALLY good reason to go higher.
    • Don't be afraid to make things up. If you want Guerilla Tactics, don't go for Disengage and Presence Concealment. Make something up that incorporates pieces of both but is limited to certain situations. Canon skills are a guide, not an exhaustive list. New Servants = New Skills.
    • Finally, always think twice about using skills strongly associated with a canon character. Golden Rule at Rank A? Gilgamesh, due to owning all the world's treasures. Eternal Arms Mastership*? Lancelot, and you should ONLY give this to someone acknowledged as the greatest warrior of the time. Imperial Privilege? Nero. Expert of Many Specialisations? Hundred-Faces.
  • Step Four) Noble Phantasms! Basic Primer and General Rules
    • Before we get onto making them, a quick rundown on what the various things mean, since I keep seeing them misused: Anti-Unit means it can ONLY hit one person, Anti-Army means it's almost certain to cause massive collateral, Anti-Fortress means that it obliterates a good chunk of surrounding scenery. This is not a comment on power. Power comes from the rank.
    • No EX-Ranks. 'Unquantifiable' is because they're vastly more powerful than anything below them. 'Destroy the World', 'Activate God Mode', 'Summon an Army of Servants'. These are EX-rank. 'Destroy a castle', 'have a bunch of extra lives and no sell weak attacks', 'have twenty bodies' are examples of the same idea but weaker, and would have ranks. If you have an EX-Ranked Noble Phantasm, it MUST only be included as trivia—like Avalon when Saber doesn't have the sheathe anywhere it can be accessed.
    • The number of Noble Phantasms with no physical component is next to none. God Hand is layered resurrection magic on Berserker's flesh, Blood Fort Andromeda is magecraft that's physically set up. If a Noble Phantasm does not have some physical basis required to take effect and instead automatically weakens everyone in the area or something, what you have there is a Reality Marble (or you're playing Medusa). If you have a Reality Marble: how? Rider has one because he and his entire army never gave up, and he can't support it on his own. Archer has one because he's a magus with a peculiarly singular origin. Nero's theatre is, for all intents and purposes, a Reality Marble, though it may be construed that the entire building is a physical Noble Phantasm kept in hammerspace.
  • Step Five) Making Noble Phantasms
    • First, check out any items or notable techniques this Servant has that would count. If the item or technique can be upgraded a little to be a Noble Phantasm, your work is done. Just give it a rank and area of effect as appropriate.
    • If not, check out their deeds. Think of something that could embody their greatest (Rider got a flying lightning chariot from cutting the knot, for reference—the bulls were given to Zeus) or the most entertaining deed. To take a quick example: Julius Caesar, crossing the Rubicon. A Noble Phantasm represented by his gladius, it embodies refusing to dissolve his armies and therefore passing the point of no return. Remove any negative penalties to his statistics and temporarily grant Battle Continuation A. If the fight results in a draw, Caesar still dies.
    • Count them. Unless your name is Gilgamesh, Medusa (who technically only has three, as Mystic Eyes is a skill) or Zealot, three is the maximum. Additionally, check things carefully. Have you given a bunch of separate Noble Phantasms that can all be used synonymously for massive damage? Cut it down. If you're unsure, stick with just the main one, add on something for support (Invisible Air, For Someone's Glory, Breaker Gorgon).
    • Remember to link it to their past—and if you're having real trouble, fudge history a bit.
    • If any of your Noble Phantasms include the phrase 'summon a Servant', then rewrite it. Especially if there's multiple Servants. The same goes for summoning armies of any description.
  • Step 6) Balancing
    • A very important step that seems to get missed a lot. Individual elements are fine on their own, but by the time people get to the end, it's broken. Take a high rank of Disengage (since it resets things to 'initial' conditions) and a Noble Phantasm that gains in power or effect if it's the first thing used in the fight, then add on average Lancer stats. What you have there are two acceptable skills that combine to allow as much kiting as desired.
    • Another example would be the ability to negate all Anti-Army or Anti-Fortress attacks, and then having a set of skills perfectly suited to dealing with Anti-Unit attacks.
    • If something only works with certain external conditions, such as being in a city, please check where the Grail War is set. If those external conditions are always around, check that their skills and stats aren't utter gamebreakers.
    • If, at any point, True Magic is amongst the Servant's skills, remove it, even if you have to start again. The single most powerful person* in the whole Nasuverse, despite being weakened? Zelretch. A flawed reproduction of his sword can unleash enough power to kill a Servant on every swing. Any True Magic with more experience than Aoko's is going to wreck things (for reference, the entire reason the Grail War summons Servants, personalities and all, despite that normally being impossible? Third Magic. It brings EVERYTHING down) and given that Servants are, by definition, going to have more practice than a teen with their skills...
  • Step 7) Appearance
    • Tantalising as it may be, it has conclusively been shown that any Servant summoned in armour is going to be modestly dressed and not wearing a chainmail bikini. Try and bear that in mind.
    • If your warrior has giant breasts, there is a problem.
    • So, too, if your warrior has A+ strength and is someone who, from reputation, should be beefy as hell, and they're bishonen.
    • In short, keep it appropriate for who they are.

I hope this helps. :S

[up][up][up] Definitely helpful. It would help a lot of people (myself included from time to time) to follow that list on Noble Phantasms.

But keep in mind, it is occasionally difficult to find pics that fit exactly what you want, so sometimes people take the good with the bad when picking profiles pictures for their Servants (i.e the aforementioned chainmail bikini problem). Also, anime physiology etc. etc.

Okay, with this list in mind, I have a few edit requests for you, Aevum, regarding Semiramis. Firstly, please either remove Golden Rule or lower its rank. While it has been stated by Nasu Gil is not the only Servant who possesses the skill, it should not be at his rank unless she literally owned everything in the world at some point, which is a matter best left to conjecture unless you can back it up with material from her myth.

Secondly, Eye of the Mind (True) and (False) are for warriors. Someone who has never actually engaged in combat would be more likely to have Military Tactics. Or again, make up some new skill which incorporates the required aspects.

Third, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I'm fairly sure Witchcraft is one of those Servant-specific skills. Sort of like how Discernment of the Poor only really applies to Karna, I'm pretty sure the Witchcraft skill is exclusive to Tamamo (I base this assumption off of the explicit mention of the "Dakini Heavenly Methods", which I'm fairly sure is Japanese black magic).

Finally, I think that with her skillset and Noble Phantasms, she'd be better off as Caster. Most Assassin N Ps have to do with OHK Os and generally don't have much use outside of that, nor are they very powerful. Plus, as history as shown, Assassin is the biggest pushover class and I'd hate to see her be eliminated so easily ^.^

I make no promises since I haven't consulted with Ragna, but I'm fairly certain that if you change all this stuff you'll be good to go.

Can I point out something about Semiramis Noble Phantasms? The first one means that, if killed by one of the people likely to kill her, she comes back vastly more powerful than before*

, the second one is labelled B-Rank but the effect explicitly states it's infinite A-rank poisons of every type imaginable, and the third one negates two types of Noble Phantasm entirely and is an Anti-Army attack as well. @_@

On a historical note, aren't the Hanging Gardens explicitly noted as not being related to Semiramis in any way, shape, or form? [lol]

So I would like to ask KSPAM and Ragna, if, judging by the fact that Frankenstein is apparently a very real character/Servant in the Nasuverse despite being taken from classic literature, would Hamlet or Raskolnikov be notable figures meriting a spot as Heroic Spirits as well? Rasky is borderline given that most of the 'supernatural' stuff in the story is mostly him being crazy(as opposed to the ghost of Hamlet's father supplying info Hamlet would have no means of knowing, thus affirming his 'realness'), but given that you guys have no problems with GW's validity as a Servant and he had a fully mundane life I thought I'd ask about using them instead of Roland, because fuck the french.

Also, we have precedent to ignore 'three is the most Noble Phantasms you can have' due to the acceptance of Perseus.
